Hi! I can't see if you've said already, but what program are you referring to? Thanks so much!
-
I totally feel the same way, wishing you the best for this cycle or whatever ends up happening, good luck!!!
-
Haha no worries!! Thanks for letting me know! And congrats on getting the interview!!! Best of luck for it. Did you only apply to the program in Shanghai or solo in NY?

Hi everyone! It's my first time posting on this thread and I share everyone's anxieties. I've been checking the messages about acceptances, interviews, etc. and was wondering if anyone knows about NYU and whether they do interviews. I saw on the results page someone posted about an interview (although it was for NYU Shanghai) this weekend and it's stressing me out. Good luck to everyone!!!

Yes I thought so! It's on my CV as well. This wait is killing me so now the slightest sign of anything related to those schools makes me even more anxious.

Hey everyone! I'm getting increasingly anxious as well and seeing we're all in the same boat is a real relief. Hang in there, we'll know soon!! I wanted to ask if anyone knows whether schools usually check our LinkedIn profiles. I'm just seeing that someone from one of the schools I applied to has checked my LinkedIn profile and I don't know if that is common or if it's just a coincidence (my privacy settings don't let me see who it was, so maybe it was just a student and it was a plain coincidence). Not that it's really important but I jumped when I saw it on my LinkedIn notifications. Has anyone else had this experience?

Hi everyone! I've been checking this thread lately hoping to get some hope and information because I'm getting really anxious. Congrats to those admitted to some of your desired programs! I'm an international applicant and although I recently did an MA at NYU I'm still not entirely familiar with the US Ph.D. system, so I only applied to three programs which I thought might be a good fit (poli sci, Govt. and Sociology). Seeing that everyone here has applied to so many schools has made me extra anxious and nervous, but I guess now it's done there is no point in worrying... I was just wondering if anyone has applied to CUNY or have any information as to when decisions might come out, or if there might be any information regarding applications this year. Thanks in advance and best of luck to everyone!!!

Hi there! I'll be starting the MA in International Relations at NYU this fall, anyone else enrolling in the same course? I'll be doing the concentration in European/Mediterranean studies, but would be happy to know people from other concentrations!

Hi! I am! NYU GSAS, I'll be doing a Master's in International Relations. What about you? I can't wait to start getting information from them!

Hi everyone! Recent NYU admit here, I see everyone's from Columbia, so if there are any NYU grads out there, please reach out! I'm an international student and have loads of questions, especially re housing!! I do have one general question about scholarships/funding/taxes, I'm a foreign Fulbright scholar and thus will be receiving a stipend from Fulbright... is that amount taxable? I would like to start looking for housing, even if it's just to look at my options, but would like to have clear up on my budget first. Any thoughts will be appreciated, and congratulations!

Hi, I know it's been a long time since you posted this, but I'll be in the US with a J1 visa next year, and my partner and I have been looking into our chances of getting him a visa... was it very difficult for you to get a visa for your partner? I know each case is supposed to be different, but any insights would be appreciated as we're pretty much lost and where baffled when we saw his chances depended on the interview with the immigration officials... Anyway, thanks in advance! -
That's awesome thanks a lot!

Hello everyone! Congratulations to those admitted! I have just received my admission to the International Studies programme with a 10k scholarship. Originally Denver wasn't my top choice, but now that I'm looking more into it it's starting to get more appealing. So far my main options would be Boston and NY (still waiting to hear back from the latter). My main question is about rent. I am an international student and would like to find a place to live on my own, a studio would be fine, since my partner would come to visit and stay for months (as long as the tourist visa allowed him!). So I would like to ask the poster who lives in Denver about the possibility of finding a studio/1 br. for under $1000 near the city centre/university. Is that even feasible? I also have an external scholarship to cover tuition and living expenses, so cost of living is definitely something that I'll factor in my decision. And how is life in Denver in general? Are there plenty of things to do, places to visit, events, etc? I keep comparing it to my other choices of cities and and I would like to know more about living there. Thanks!

Hi! I am considering the same but I have two different questions, as an international student, how feasible it is to find a place to live on the internet? I've been reading about scams everywhere and I'm really not sure if that would be a safe option, but on the other hand it would be really difficult for me to travel there just to visit apartments. The second question is, is it possible to find decent studios in Manhattan? I haven't had nice experiences sharing apartments over the last few years and would really like to try it on my own. From what I've seen in some websites there seem to be decent looking studios for around $1,600-1,700, which again makes me a bit wary. Any thoughts and insights are appreciated Thanks!

Hi! I found your post because I have the same question. I know it's been a long time since you posted this, so now that I assume you made a choice, could you share your insight? Thanks in advance!

Hi! I'm new to this forum, I have recently been accepted into Northeastern, and as it was one of my top choices, before I make a final decision I would like to know about renting in Boston. I have an external scholarship so I'm looking into options around $1,700, preferably studios, as my partner will come to visit and stay for a few months. I am an international student and I don't know if that would be a feasible option or if I am being too ambitious. Any insights appreciated! Thanks!
