@nebulousmilk Just send an email stating that you just had an interview with Dr. *name* and I am curious to see how the lab runs, your research and anything else you are interested in. Remember they are students and usually people love sharing their experience. If they do not email back this could be due to a deadline coming up or the holiday break but definatly email them!

@Moods Did you interview? If so when did you interview and when did you get notified?

Hello, Now that some application deadlines have passed I felt like we should start a acceptance thread. I first want to start off with I wish all of you luck and positive thoughts as we are waiting for our results. I hope that you share what schools you applied too as well as your fears and joys of the process after you submitted your application. I pewould all hope that you also share what programs sent out letters of acceptance or rejection as well as interviews.

Does anyone know how many applicants there were this year? Is the Fellowship steadily growing with the number of applicants year after year?

@ResilientDreams Waiting is terrible

@KhaledAly @kendalldinniene YES! It is always nice to send a thank you email for every interview not just for graduate admissions. You can just thank them for their time example below. I just want to thank you for your time and I appreciate the insights of your program. I was also pleased to talk with Dr. *enter name* research area *What ever you talked about*. I also have a question on *ask question* It is always nice to thank people for their time once you interview. You can make it as simple as just thanking their for their time or you can ask a question you did not ask in the interview. Doing this makes you seem interested in the program. I would cc whoever was in the interview. You will not annoy them and it will not hurt your chances of getting in, also if it does do you really want to go to a program where they wont even answer your thank you email in the process?

Waiting for responses from schools kind of suck.

What schools are you applying for? The schools I applied for do not need a GRE subject test

@Tom96 I do not think it matters what department you are accepted to as long as it falls in one these categories: Aeronautical Engineering Aerospace Agricultural Engineering Analytical Chemistry Anatomy Automotive Biochemistry Bioengineering Biology Biomedical Engineering Chemical Engineering Chemistry Civil Engineering Computer Science Electrical Engineering Environmental Engineering Environmental Science Industrial Engineering Information Systems Inorganic Chemistry Manufacturing Engineering Materials Engineering Materials Science Mathematics Mechanical Engineering Metallurgical Engineering Nuclear Engineering Operations Research Organic Chemistry Petroleum Engineering Physics Structural Engineering Systems Engineering Physics made the list so I think your applications count toward the required 3 programs. I think the category in the application essentially are for the employees to indicate interested applicants in that field. The companies are essential investing into a future employee and they want to select candidates that are interested in that field of study so you will work for them after your specific program ends. So if you are interested in physics but indicated engineering on your application you should call GEM and see if they can change it so you do not loose out on employers. If you get accepted to a physics program and a company sponsors then you will obtain the GEM Fellowship

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A company selected you or you received the full Fellowship. In order to receive the full fellowship two things need to happen: 1. A company sponsor 2. Acceptance to a college with funding - from my knowledge this will pop up on egem portal with a contract. THAT IS AWESOME CONGRATS!

Pretty much I think it just restarting the deadlines on their website. I think though if no one receives an GEM employer by Feb 6th, I would start look externally.
