I come from a low-income family and was able to attend Wellesley College thanks to their incredible need-based aid. I am going to UChicago for a masters in public policy next year and want to serve you all in the US federal government graduation. However, my family and I lack funding, and I'm looking at lot of debt right now.
I entered a scholarship contest in which I can win $4,000 for the first prize if my friends vote up to twice a day by April 1. What are folks’ thoughts on the potential value of the loan repayment assistance program at HKS? Comparing HKS with no funding to a mid-level school with lots of funding but no loan repayment program (didn’t want to leave MA).

I guess they could. My guess is that they finished reading names and matt went to sign letters while other people on the team finalized things in the system? Hoping for 5pm-ish

another thing that's making me want HKS even more is their newly rebuilt campus. it's gorgeous. 

Hah, I had a stress dream the day before Wagner came out; I had to complete fear factor esque challenges in a limited time or I wouldn’t get to see whether I’d been admitted.

What a position to be in! Congrats on that big amount! I understand your situation well! It's hard to envision myself there right now, let alone to think about whether or not I'd have to invest so much money in order to get the education. At this point in my career, I would be more than fine without the name, but I know how much more impactful I would be with the institution's name behind me. Best of luuuuuck!

BTW - I can’t think of a more effective way for HKS to make us all feel unworthy than this Friday blog post about their alumnus who was a Navy SEAL, lost his legs, and then won an Olympic gold medal.

That's pretty chilling...are they really reading our names right now? Wow. I hope we're all on the list, or at least most of us.

Thanks for this! However, I’m still not convinced that they’re actually entering decisions during all this updating. Matt has posted about how the final step is to transfer all the data from meeting spreadsheets into the portal, and one of his staff looks on while another enters the data. So they could be doing other things. FWIW, each one of these waves of portal changes ended with an admit rate at or above the admit rate for HKS (~20%).
