  1. School: John Jay College at City University of New York (CUNY) Type: PhD (Clinical Psychology only, not the joint program) Date of invite: January 4, 2018 Type of invite: Email from DCT Interview date(s): Friday February 1st, with welcome reception the evening of Jan 31 I posted this on the results board just now too. Feel free to PM me for POI's. I'm so unbelievably excited. Brb, going to go breathe into a paper bag...
  2. To the person who posted on the results page about an interview invite from Temple - could you please PM me on whether this was a mass or individual invitation? Thanks and congrats!
  3. Hi there! Congrats - is this for John Jay College at CUNY, by any chance?
  4. Has anyone heard from Temple (besides the person who posted earlier on this page)? Could you please PM me your POI?
  5. Has anyone heard from Temple yet? I think one online calendar said their interview date would be mid-January (I think 1/14) but only two people have posted on the results tab about interview invites, and each reference different dates (1/14 and 2/14).
  6. School: George Mason University Type: Clinical Psychology PhD Date of invite: Dec. 21st (late afternoon) Type of invite: Email from director of clinical training inviting me for an interview during an "open house" Interview date(s): Friday January 25th OR Saturday January 26th I'm happy to share POI initials by PM if you reach out to me! Happy holidays everyone!!
  7. School: Montclair State University Type: Clinical Psychology PhD Date of invite: Dec. 21st (morning) Type of invite: Email from director of clinical training Interview date(s): Friday February 8th, with welcome event the evening before Feel free to PM me for POI initials!
  8. This might have been brought up at some point in the previous 47 pages so forgive any redundancy, but is it a bad idea to immediately accept the first interview invitation you receive? I just received an invite this morning and am hoping if I'm ~lucky~, I might get another later today as programs push to review before the holidays. I'm wondering if it is fine to wait until the end of the day or tomorrow morning to accept the first invite, or if this would be viewed as lack of enthusiasm? I'm equally interested in all 6 programs I applied to, and I just want to see if any others send out notifications today.
  9. I think clinical psych PhD programs rarely immediately accept without interviews, but I could be wrong...
  10. Me too please! Thank youuu
  11. Someone posted about an informal skype interview with a potential mentor at John Jay (for the Psychology and Law program) - could you please PM me your POI's initials? Thank you!!
  12. I don't know if other people have said this already, but you could also check the job listings for specific universities or institutions, since postings are usually listed there before anywhere else (like Indeed or another job searching engine). I work at a medical center affiliated with an ivy league and applied to ~20 "Research assistant" postings before I heard back from one and was offered my current position.
  13. Yes, that shows up in my checklist too. I had emailed admissions about that and something else, and they didnt specifically say anything about it so I imagine it is an internal administrative thing.
  14. Can I ask who you your POIs are? Fellow applicant here....
  15. On the topic of submitting writing samples, how disadvantageous is it to submit things that aren't quite related to your research interest? I have two first-author publications, reporting on psychiatric and cognitive changes in prodromal dementia. Neither relate to my interest (forensics) but I would still like to submit one of these published works, since I have no publications or writing samples relating to forensics. Has anyone been in a similar position?
  16. @psychmajor2394 Hi there! Oh wow very cool - how are you liking it so far? My research interests match well with those of Dr. King and Dr. Zottoli. Are you hoping to work with either of them too?
  17. Hi there! I am new to gradcafe so apologies if there are errors with this posting - I think I accidentally posted this as a reply to an existing thread originally. I'm applying to Clinical Psych PhD programs for the first time and am super nervous about realistically being admitted to the programs I am applying to (a total of six). Would love to hear thoughts or experiences from anyone who is currently or had previously applied to the following schools: Drexel University Temple University John Jay at CUNY Fordham University George Mason University Montclair State University Thanks in advance! Also I would love to do a SoP exchange for feedback/comments with anyone else applying to these schools (especially other applicants hoping to work with faculty studying forensic psychology, antisocial behavior, and disadvantaged populations.) Thank you!
