  1. I have a medium size purse that fits my water bottle and small leather document pouch in it. I found a great faux leather document holder at Target for 9 bucks! I've also heard that bringing snacks might be good - a granola bar or some fruit or something like that.
  2. University of Denver sent out invites on this day last year.... i'm not freaking out you're freaking out!
  3. UO did this to me...like WTF don't give me hope!
  4. thanks that is helpful. It is hard to find the line of comfortable yet professional looking pants. My gripe with slacks is that they are usually so stiff!
  5. Thank you! I haven't shopped at Lane Bryant either...might be my deep denial of the size of clothes I need LOL but I need to swallow my pride and buy comfortable clothes that fit!
  6. Thank you both so much! There is an Old Navy in the mall near me so I'll check it out this weekend. I don't normally shop there but hopefully I can at least find some comfy pants!
  7. Alright ladies, I am having a super tough time finding a suit/blazer and pants. It's starting to stress me out. Any advice for places to shop for curvier bods?
  8. I posted this in the other thread, but I called the graduate assistant today who said that NIU is still sending out invites. Each individual faculty member contacts the applicants they are inviting, so the timeline is fuzzy. If you've seen someone receive an invite for your POI it's probable they are finished sending out invites.
  9. To anyone else waiting on NIU - I just called the graduate studies assistant who said that each faculty has their own timeline for extending invitations, so invites are still going out. She said they should be done within the next couple of days.
  10. I took a much needed break from this forum over the weekend and y'all let me tell you, it was life changing! If you are finding yourself feeling extra stressed and anxious scrolling through everyone else's good news, especially if you have yet to hear back/have only heard about rejections so far, I suggest you do the same. Life isn't stopping for us just because we are waiting on potentially course-altering news. Be sure to live while you are waiting! I'm still nervous about the remaining schools I have yet to hear back from, but I'm much more at peace - whatever happens, happens. Remember this process has nothing to do with your self-worth or, in many cases, even your competence and fit for a PhD program. ❤️
  11. Yeah, I'd say those are much better in person questions...keep the email questions simple
  12. Just saw the post related to the results page info - can't delete my comment though ?
  13. As a clinical applicant listening to you talk about getting reimbursed for flights....
  14. Thanks for the heads up. I frequently take it out with no issues, so I should be okay. It's the only piercing I have that hasn't closed on me once I've taken out jewelry!
  15. Hmm when I click the link it says the site can't be reached, but it might be my work computer. I'll have to try when I get home. Thank you!! ❤️
  16. Next week feels like do or die time over here. The last 3 programs I'm waiting to hear from all sent out invites this time last year, and two of them are my #1 and #2 programs. NBD, I'm fine, totally fine, just my life trajectory hanging in the balance ????
  17. Question - in last year's threads (yes I've been perusing 2019's interview thread, don't judge me) there is mention of the existence of a calendar with interview notification deadlines, interview dates, etc. from CUDCP, but when I try to access the calendar I'm getting an error message. Has anyone else stumbled across this and been able to access it?
  18. Unfortunately I wear a closed, continuous clicker ring so I can't flip it, but I've had it for almost 10 years so I know it won't close on me!
  19. I second this, I asked about weather, about non-interview day activities (the night before, etc). I kept the questions pretty basic. I also don't know if the grad student current works with my POI, it's just the student providing housing for me.
  20. *sniff* thanks guys I live off of memes these days so I appreciate your efforts ?
  21. Hmm yeah I don't think of the DPCS as part of clinical because it's housed in the ICD, with the developmental program, and DPCS doesn't conduct formal interviews before acceptance or rejection. So we should just be hearing about acceptance or rejection in a week or so!
  22. It might be different for me because I'm applying to DPCS, not just straight developmental, but I had a informational phone call with my POI before applications were due. Definitely didn't think of it as an informal interview though it very well might have been.
  23. Okay, very unrelated to application stress, but I hate that GradCafe limits the amounts of reactions you can give in one day! I need to upvote the Fairly OddParents meme! I need to!
  24. Yeah, I have gauges and feel like it would look worse to take them out lol. I also plan on having my hair down, so ears probably won't be a major focus! I'm surprised about keeping nose piercings in. I've always taken out facial piercings for job interviews and what not, but maybe I haven't needed to. I have my septum pierced now, though, which I will definitely be taking out haha
  25. It looks like you are social psych so it's probably a bit different for you, but unfortunately those GRE scores might be a dealbreaker for certain programs. It SUCKS. It's also totally dependent on how much weight your programs put on the GRE. Some will just toss out applications under a certain percentile.
