I just tried to log in and the site is moving super slow, haven't been able to log in either. I have a feeling the site is overloaded right now with traffic. -

I'm in the same boat. I don't know how many more reminders I can send. Just crossing my fingers that they submit tomorrow! -

Unfortunately, I think it's pretty rare for clinical programs to reimburse for travel costs. They do typically offer a graduate student's house for accommodations to cut back on lodging expenses! And then you have to do this whole process again for internships ? yayyyy lol -

And right before the holidays ? Not to mention travel expenses for any interviews we get! -

I have a feeling that those posted results were spam...there was around four for both the 25th and the 26th and no additional information was provided. If you applied there I don't think I'd worry just yet. Usually clinical psych programs don't do rolling admissions, right? -

Agreed, there was like 8 entries! With no extra information. Weird. -

I've emailed back and forth with most of my POIs and had phone calls with two. My understanding is that if they do it with me, they probably do it with other applicants as well, and it likely isn't influencing their decision making much until they see your whole application. I personally wouldn't put much stock into it. -

I started an interview invite thread so it might be helpful to post this there to keep interview information separate, it could get lost on this post -
Interview invites should be rolling in pretty soon, so I thought we could get this thread going. Here's a template for posts that was used last year: School: Type: PhD/PsyD Date of invite: Type of invite: Mass email, email from POI, phone call, etc. Interview date(s): Good luck, everyone!

Can you email the graduate coordinator to show her the discrepancies? It would definitely not be fair to hold you to a second, unknowable standard! -

I've gotta say, hitting that submit button on applications never gets easier or less stressful! All of the "what-ifs" seem to run through my brain at lightspeed. Cheers to being done with application stress, and entering into a whole different stress... waiting to hear about interviews ?? -

Totally agree, but we have to remember that profs and researchers are constantly having to finish and submit letters around this same holiday time each year. I have faith that they will get it done! All of mine have asked for reminders leading up to the day of, so it's completely appropriate to keep reminding them. -

1 week until the majority of clinical psychology applications are due! Ahh! How is everyone holding up? Are you submitting early to enjoy Thanksgiving or continuing work on your materials all week? Last cycle, someone started a "I'm stressed out and need to vent" thread. I'll start one if people want that! Though TGC is considerably more quiet this round. -

I don't think it matters what sort of writing sample you use, though obviously published papers would be the strongest. If you have a literature review or some other psychology paper you've written I would submit that. Writing is a huge part of psych so showcasing it as a strength is important -
If I remember correctly from last cycle, there was a separate interview thread which really helped keep information easy to find and separate. As you mentioned the other thread is already quite lengthy and it can get annoying when people start asking for PI information and whatnot in the general thread. Editing to add the thread from last year. They also included a template for posting about invites which looks great. Not sure if we want to follow this model this year! I do still think we should change the title of this thread, though. Or start a new one.

AL for the Prenatal Stress Studies Lab - hope you are in the clear! -
@2ndTimeHopeful Are you able to change the title? "Clinical Psychology Interview Invites" or something like that might make more sense - by the title of the post I would have had no idea what the thread was for But we definitely need an interview thread!

Right?? I've spent time with my partner imagining what life would be like living in that state, reading papers, contemplating what research questions I wanted to ask within the lab...ugh. Wasn't sure if I wanted to scream or cry last night I'm glad I'm not overreacting ? I hope you found another good option, or are satisfied with the other programs on your list! My partner reminded me last night that this is why I didn't put all my eggs in one basket...but I REALLY liked that basket lol -

Have you reached out to her or any current graduate students? It might just be a tech error or a fluke! Don't count her lab out until you hear confirmation. -

Mine was at Michigan State...heard from a current graduate student that the lab decided not to take a graduate student this year. Super bummed, was one of my top choices ? -

Psych GRE Suggestions for Non-Psych Student
justacigar replied to blithe285's topic in Psychology Forum
In response to PsyDGrad90 above - while the Psych GRE isn't a formal requirement, many suggest it if you are applying without an undergraduate degree in psychology in addition to specific psychology classes you may have to take such as research methods and statistics. So, you are on the right track preparing to take the subject test! -
Does anyone else have applications to be submitted through PSYCAS? I am getting soo irritated with their transcript entry system. They make you input ALL OF THE INFORMATION FROM YOUR TRANSCRIPTS. Like, what? Read my fricken transcript! And, to top it off, you can pay someone to input it for you...if you have 100 buck. Ugh.
