  1. Has anyone heard from UO Clinical? I keep seeing counseling invites and they make my heart skip a beat, but I think I may be the only UO clinical person on here. Some listed on the results page only said "psychology"
  2. Yes! My husband has a specific line of work to consider and needs to know his options geographically. Luckily he is much more "go with the flow" and isn't the least bit concerned with the uncertainty...opposite of me ?
  3. I have 4 email accounts...FOUR...why?! I know which email I listed on my applications, but that isn't stopping me from obsessively checking all the accounts "just in case" ? at this rate I think I will qualify for a handful of new DSM diagnoses when this is all finished...
  4. @letsgetclinicalclinical seriously, adult refreshments preferred!
  5. Was hoping being at work today would help distract me. Nope, three out of four of my clients are absent from school today sooo I'll just be twiddling my thumbs and obsessively refreshing my email and gradcafe until 2:30!
  6. Has anyone heard from University of Oregon for clinical? I've seen UO on the results page but only for counseling and developmental. Was assuming clinical would have sent out invites by now.
  7. Very true, cheering for you as well! ASD kiddos and their families need passionate people in the field, best of luck to you in this process! That makes me feel a bit more confident. I definitely spent most of my SOP discussing what research directions I'd like to take, using that basic assumption so I'm happy I was correctly guided! My application mentor said essentially this.
  8. I am a psych background person, but have minimal research experience and lots of clinical/hands-on experience with the population I want to work with and was worried it wouldn't be enough, so that makes me feel better! One of the professors I talked with made it seem like I should downplay my clinical background and beef up my research interests but now I'm worried I went TOO far towards research and left behind my clinical interests. LOL, each day a new concern, it's exhausting
  9. I've been obsessively baking too! It calms my nerves, and gets my mind focused on something else
  10. It's from this magazine called baking from scratch! I would highly recommend buying their holiday cookie issue, for some reason looking at all the beautiful baked goods is therapeutic, lol. The actual name of the cookies are chocolate peppermint cookies (dunno where I got hot chocolate from, mush brain) and they turned out sooo good. Very addicting. If you can't find it on the interwebs let me know and I can send you a pic!
  11. Happy birthday! To celebrate, you should give yourself a break from this website ? hope your day is lovely
  12. Seriously, the post-submission anxiety is nutso. I've already baked 5-spice ginger cookies and gingerbread blondies. This weekend I am diving into peppermint hot chocolate cookies, linzer sandwich cookies filled with raspberry jam, and english toffee cookie bars! Luckily I have a cookie exchange to attend so they will be out of my house and I won't gain 10 pounds ? I wish I hated sugar! I am hopelessly addicted to the stuff lol
  13. I don't know if this is really all that beneficial for my stress levels or not, but I am already starting preparations for next year's application cycle. I am assuming the worst, that way if the best happens it will feel 10x better! I'm also engaging in an insane amount of holiday baking this month to keep myself preoccupied. Loving all the cute animal pics! I have two kitties that come sit on my lap when they sense I am in freak out mode, lol
  14. Thanks! That is really helpful. I was late to the game this cycle, so I'm planning on getting ready to email as soon as this round dies down around April.
  15. Random question, but if a professor is accepting a new student this cycle, will they most likely not be taking a student next year?
  16. Every day I wake up and think "Today's the day. I won't check gradcafe. I'm gonna chill" and then somehow I end up here...whoops! Muscle memory ?
  17. To the person who received an email from UO clinical for a Skype interview, would you mind DMing me your POI? Much appreciated, thanks!

  19. @clinicalpsych2019 @petitebiscuit thanks for the recommendations! I'll definitely explore those options.
  20. Could I ask how you found a full time position? I have been trying to find RA jobs/coordinator jobs and haven't had much luck. Not sure if it's how I'm looking or the area I am in!
  21. Thanks, this is a helpful reminder! I keep oscillating between calm and total anxiety, but it's still very early
  22. I'd like this info as well!
  23. Did you request to get notifications when they were retrieved? I don't think I've seen anything like that for the transcripts I sent electronically.
  24. Just got my first "Application in Review" email and almost started crying thinking I was rejected that fast! ? On a happier note, best of luck to everyone as invites start rolling in!!
  25. It happened to me too! It was the gas company saying my power might be out thanks for the heart attack, guys. Had to remind myself it'll likely be weeks before I need to worry about any schools calling, lol
