  1. I turned down my offer to saint xavier! I am still on the high waitlist at elmhurst and haven't heard anything. I wont be attending there either though.
  2. Absolutely! I'm post-bacc, first degree was in teaching. I graduated from undergrad in 2011. My cumulative GPA was 3.43 Post-bacc GPA: 3.83 CSD GPA: 4.0 GRE scores were 157V/150Q/4.5AW I had exactly 0 undergrad experience. I'm just working on my observation hours right now as I finish up my last pre-reqs, however I was a teacher so I'm not sure if that was considered experience. I have heard that NIU looks for some diversity in their program, but I have no idea what that means. I suppose since I'm a nontraditional student (I have 3 kids, and I'm 30 years old). I have accepted student day tomorrow though so I'll be able to tell you better! Good luck! It's been a tough process!
  3. Where are you planning on going? Just curious since we got into the same schools.
  4. Where are you planning to go? Just curious since we got into the same schools.
  5. I am declining my offer at St Xavier and removing myself from the high waitlist at Elmhurst. Still deciding between two other acceptances. (Midwestern Downer's Grove and Northern Illinois)
  6. For those of you who applied to many schools and got into more than one... how did you pick which one? I wasn't expecting ng to get into any and now I'm stumped. And I applied to 4 even though I had a low cumulative gpa. I graduated from undergrad 8 years ago. I don't have the option of moving because we have a house and my husband has a job and I have three kids with friends and school where we are. So I looked into what schools near Chicago were within an hour commute time and applied to all of those.
  7. So I got accepted to Northern Illinois University, but I know absolutely nothing about the program or the school. Could anyone tell me anything about it?
  8. I got my acceptance this morning!!!
  9. Thank you! I've heard that about Elmhurst. I'm actually taking my pre-requisites there right now. There were way fewer early admits this year. I think only 5 or so? If I get waitlisted at midwestern I'll definitely send on my resume and personal statement. They seem to be going slower right now and aren't up to my interview date yet for acceptances. I'm now over 3 weeks, but they still haven't reached my interview date! Last I saw of acceptances were February 4th I think and I interviewed February 7th. I interviewed with several classmates and no one has heard anything yet. I called on Friday to ask about the status of my application and when I might hear back and she said they are still reviewing it and she wasn't sure when the admissions committee would be meeting again. It's so exhausting getting nervous checking my phone and email! I'm within the limits of all the schools according to edFind, but I'm not sure how accurate edFind is... This is my biggest hope-- that my teaching experience will be counted as experience related to the field. Where did you end up going??
  10. That is SO good to hear. I'm out of field. I applied to 4 schools in the Chicago area. I have three kids and a husband that I can't pick up and move or I would have applied all over. Luckily Chicago has a lot of options. I applied to Elmhurst College, Saint Xavier University, Midwestern University (Had an interview earlier this month), and Northern Illinois University.
  11. Still just twiddling my thumbs waiting to hear back from ANY of the schools I applied to. I know there's nothing I can do anymore, but I keep analyzing my stats over and over. I'm a unique candidate in that all of my undergraduate credits are from 8 years ago. I have no campus involvement or group leadership roles, but I was a teacher for a couple of years and and reading interventionist. So all of that counts against me... but in the last 5 years since I started taking pre-reqs here and there I have a better gpa, and a perfect gpa in CSD classes that I have been taking full-time for a year and a half. I honestly have no clue one way or the other whether I'll get in anywhere... Does anyone have any insight on this? Undergrad GPA: 3.28 (8 years ago) Post bacc GPA: 3.84 (in the last 5 years) CSD GPA: 4.0 (in the last 2 years) Overall Cumulative GPA: 3.43 GRE V: 157 Q: 150 AW:4.5
  12. Not alone at all. It's my biggest fear as well.
  13. Absolutely true, I just feel like a lot of people don't for some reason. I appreciate your signature though ? Congrats on the acceptance at western!
  14. I haven't been able to find anything like this, and I feel like it's what a lot of people are curious about: What school(s) have you been offered admission? What are you stats? Cumulative GPA? CSD GPA? GRE scores? Out of field? Experience? Have no received any acceptance decisions yet. All of the schools I have applied to seem to have late Feb- mid March timelines. Cumulative GPA: 3.43 (graduated with my BA in 2011) Post-bacc GPA: 3.84 CSD GPA: 4.0 GRE: V: 157 Q: 150 AW: 4.5 Out of field applicant with experience as a teacher, For my BA I double majored as elementary and early childhood education with a double minor in special education and literacy education. I'll update when/if i get accepted anywhere.
