I am trying to decide between these 2 programs. I have heard that CSUSB is more research based and LLU is more clinical. My ultimate career goal is to become a medical social worker. I am not Seventh-Day Adventist FYI. What are your thoughts on these programs?

I haven't gotten an interview for CSUF either. For CSUSB, I got an email sometime in early March that my application was forwarded to the department. Do you know how long from when you got that email to when you got a decision was? Thanks.

I got wait listed for CSULA. I am hoping to get off the wait list though lol. It's my top school.

Hello, I was accepted into Loma Linda's MSW program. I still have 5 other CSU's to hear back from. I have asked for an extension and been honest with Loma Linda saying that I am waiting for other schools. They were able to give me an extension until Feb 26th. I am debating whether paying the deposit or asking for another extension (I can either say that I am still waiting on the other schools or trying to figure out my living situation for the upcoming months). I can also just pay the deposit and wait to see if I get into the other schools and simply thank Loma Linda and let them know that I have changed my mind, if that were the case. Any information and advice is greatly appreciated.

So I got this email. I never even got the 1st confirmation lol. I emailed them and they said they are working on processing my application and decisions will be made through May. My application status says Your application has been reviewed and has been forwarded to your intended CSULB academic department for their review. Every effort will be made to provide you with a timely decision. In the meantime, be sure to check the website of your academic department for departmental deadlines and any additional required documents. Remember to check your email regularly for messages from CSULB regarding admission decisions, any upcoming deadlines, or required documents.

Congrats! I have still heard nothing and I applied November 13 I think. The reference who submitted the reference form last sent me an email saying they had matched the reference form to my app. I just hope my other 2 references are okay because they both submitted the forms before I submitted my application and I'm talking about weeks before I even submitted.

My reference forwarded me an email saying that the school of social worker had matched that reference to my application. I'm not sure about the other 2 references. I haven't heard anything from the school either.

I still have not heard a thing from CSULB. I turned in my app mid-Nov and people are already getting accepted. I emailed them and they said that they are matching 1100 applications to the references. My status says that my application has been sent to my desired program, but that's been it.

hello, I got a call about having an interview for Loma Linda University for the MSW program. Does anyone have any advice on how to prepare? What kind of question do/can they ask? TIA.

Hey everyone. I am having a difficult time figuring out my cumulative GPA. In an information session, the program said that I have to include all the classes I have taken after my BA. I am currently takin classes at a CC. I have taken a few that relate to social work. Would I just have to calculate it until it gets to 60 units? Is there a specific website? I have contacted the MSW program but haven't heard back. I also contacted my undergrad university and asked if my cumulative GPA would change if I sent my transcripts from a CC and they said no because I already graduated. TIA.

Some Cal State Universities allow you to reuse the Letters of Recommendation from last year. So far, I know that Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Dominguez Hills is allowing that. I am applying to CSULA, CSULB, and CSUSB. Does anyone know if those other school are doing the same? Thanks.

I got denied from csula this past week. I only have 2 more schools to hear from and I hear and suspect that all seats are taken. It's taking too long.
