  1. Hello! I got off the Western SLP waitlist this morning at 11:00 am. I was in the first quadrant. This was my 4th cycle applying to UWO SLP, I was waitlisted twice (2020 and 2021) and rejected once (2022) before getting in this cycle! I accepted the offer! Best of luck to everyone else on the waitlist; be kind to yourself during the process šŸ¤!
  2. Hello! I am also applying this year and emailed Western SLP regarding CDA professors being an academic reference. They confirmed that you can use 1 CDA professors as an academic reference, I am using an undergrad professor as my other academic reference.
  3. Just got my rejection letter. If it makes anyone else feel better, with the stats they provided on the rejection letter there was only a 8.7% acceptance rate meaning 91.3% of applicant did not get a seat. Very disappointing, this year was extremely competitive. This is my third year applying to the Canadian schools, will be looking into American schools for the next cycle.
  4. Has anyone heard anything from Dalhousie during April? I called today and they said they should have the results out this week
  5. Which American schools did you apply to? I am thinking of doing the same next year if I do not get in this year!
  6. Hey! I am also applying to SLP at UofT, Western, and Dalhousie! I have a 3.70 sGPA and cGPA for grades in addition to 200 hours volunteering with an SLP in a school as well as an aphasia program, 400 hours working in an audiology clinic and over 100 hours providing education on aphasia for the Alzheimers Society. Lastly, I have 220 hours doing concussion research on varsity football athletes along with authorship on the research and attending the 2021 Canadian Psychological Association Conference to share my results. This is my first time applying to audiology! In 2020 when I applied to SLP I had a 3.67 sGPA and in 2021 I had a 3.70 sGPA. Both times I got waitlisted for all the schools I applied to, fingers crossed this year will be my year! Best of luck for you as well.
  7. Hello! I am applying for audiology for the first time this year at UWO and Dal. I had previously applied to SLP for the past two years and after working at an audiology clinic I fell in love with the career. Good luck everyone! If you have any questions, I have gained some knowledge in the application process over my previous application cycles, please don't hesitate to ask! Additionally, GPA calculations are out on ORPAS!
  8. Hello! I had a 3.70 sGPA last year and I got off the waitlist for UofT (ended up not finishing with a B+ in anatomy and had to turn down). But there is hope! UofT really focuses on GPA, but do not underestimate the power behind a strong letter of intent and references.
  9. If you donā€™t mind me asking, do you know what quadrant of the waitlist you were on?
  10. Hello! I just got offered a waitlist position for Dalhousie S-LP. Does anyone know if we can still send updated official transcripts with grades from the winter 2020 semester to the university given COVID-19? I know in an earlier email Dalhousie said this was required but it wasnā€™t reiterated on the waitlist email. Thank you for any insights you can provide!
  11. I did not do well in statistics in 3rd year and took a different one this semester (and thankfully did a lot better) and I know thatā€™s what dragged my application down. I went right from high school to university and (honestly) Iā€™m scared to not do school, so Iā€™d rather fill my year off learning more within the field (my hometown is Barrie and I can live at home while I do it) and apply again for SLP. Ultimately, I know Iā€™d rather do SLP than CDA if I can get in! If I donā€™t get in again, then I can start a career in CDA instead ā˜ŗļø.
  12. I have found that during the application process Dalhousie has been the most difficult communication wise (did not know if they got my application till March, do not answer phones on Fridays or Mondays, never responded to emails before application deadline, did not post application supplement till a couple months after they said it would be on the website), does this improve once you are a student at Dalhousie or does it just get worse?
  13. I have been waitlisted at Western and I am still waiting to hear back from Dalhousie. If I do not get off the waitlist at Western, I will be going to Georgian College for the CDA program and reapplying for 2021. Congratulations to everyone on their acceptances!?
