  1. Hey all! I am applying for master's in Computational Science and Engineering at TU Munich. The guidelines for the CV dictate that there must be no chronological gaps in it even if one hasn't been in an educational program or gainful employment during the period. In such a case, say I am working on my "work experience" section in the CV and there is a one year gap during which I was taking a break. Then, it doesn't fit in the work experience section, right? Do I then place this under a separate section even though the timeline in the work experience section is now broken? And if so, what do I call this separate section? Anybody been in a similar boat? Please let me know. Appreciate your help a lot, thanks in advance!
  2. Hey all! I am applying for the MASc in Systems Design and Engineering at University of Waterloo for the next winter semester (January 2022). The application deadline is the 31st of May, 2021. Now, I have a couple questions about the proof of English language proficiency. I have graduated from an institute where the language of instruction was English and it states so on the transcript (but English is not the native language in my country). On the University of Waterloo website, it's mentioned that a medium of instruction certificate from the graduating institute will not suffice. However, on the application portal, it is written that if the primary language of instruction of the graduating university is English, an ELP test isn't required. I am confused. Do I need an ELP test or not? Secondly, if I have to give IELTS, the closest available test slot is on the 11th of May, 2021. The test centre has informed me that I would get the results 5 days after the test date, after which I would have to select universities to which to send my scores. From then, it would take another 15-20 days for the online test scores to reach the universities. So, even in the best case scenario, my score would reach the university just on time or a little late. Is it alright if they reach a week or two after the deadline? The rest of my application would be complete and submitted. Only the IELTS score would be a bit delayed. Is that okay? Have any of you been in a situation like this? I’m also applying to McMaster University and have the same query regarding IELTS score deadlines. One last thing, if I add two different programs to the same application, would I have to pay twice the application fee or just once? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sorry about the long post.
  3. Hello all, I am from India, applying for master's in Computational Science and Engineering at Technical University of Munich (TUM) for the winter semester 2020. The process requires me to apply through Uni-Assist as well as the TUM portal. The Uni-Assist instructions specify that after selecting the course and making the payment, I need to upload the documents (including CV, motivation letter, study certificate, etc.) online and then send the notarized hard copies by post. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the hard copies might take longer than usual to reach Germany from India. If I wait until I prepare all of my documents, upload them online and then post the hard copies, they might not reach Germany from India before the deadline, which is the 30th of June, 2020. In this regard, can someone please tell me: 1) which documents need to be compulsorily uploaded online on the Uni-Assist portal? 2) whether I can post the hard copies first and then complete uploading the documents online? I need to wrap up my application as soon as possible. So, any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
