  1. Hi all, I just needed a space to squeal....I was accepted to my #1 program of choice today!!! Claremont Graduate University's Master's program in Positive Organizational Psychology & Evaluation. I know, I know, that positive psychology and its founder are not highly regarded in the I/O space but its foundation in CBT and Beck's work are so meaningful to me. Also, for anyone who cares to look into their programs, I felt incredibly supported throughout the entire application process. Every email was answered promptly. Every info session was helpful. They even offered to read my SOP and provide feedback on it. I took them up on this offer and think it really helped. As someone who is 10 years out of undergrad (BA, Psychology) and has worked in a different field since, I'm honestly really f-ing proud of myself. And we should all be no matter how we look on paper!
  2. Following up on my own post - got waitlisted today so congrats to those who have interviews/acceptances! This is a top program for me so fingers crossed. They also call the waitlist "a group of alternates" which makes me feel like an athlete. Ha.
  3. I applied to SJSU and got a notification at the end of last week that my application was complete and "The I/O Program Admissions Committee expects to complete their evaluation of applications no later than the middle of March and will email you regarding the status of your application."
  4. For those of you who have applied to Florida Tech - have you heard ANYTHING during the application process? I've found it to be very off-putting that they're not offering much of any admissions support. The most I got was "We have your application. Unfortunately I'm not on the committee so I don't know when you'll hear back". Paraphrasing but you get the idea...
  5. First acceptance today! I'm almost 10 years out of undergrad and I've been so nervous that I wouldn't be a quality candidate. Accepted to University of New Haven. No fellowship info just yet but I just wanted to post here so I could update my signature
  6. Hi there! Anyone applying to masters programs only? I'm applying to terminal masters programs only and most deadlines are Jan 15, Feb 1, March 1, etc. The I/O Psych subreddit has been extremely helpful (if you haven't checked it out). Has anyone applied to or, inversely, decided NOT to apply to any of the following schools? Cal State SF Claremont Graduate School UT Arlington Texas A&M Cal State San Bernardino Appalachian State University of New Haven Florida International University University of Georgia Elmhurst University Valdosta State University University of Tennessee, Chattanooga St. Mary's University Vanguard University California Baptist University It's so tough to tell what makes a good candidate without GRE scores required. And I know some schools slap an I/O program into the mix as cash collectors. Any advice is appreciated!!
