  1. I assume that my rejection letter from Harvard is already in the mail, and making its way across the Pacific Ocean to me - a second time round. Anyone heard anything from Temple or Cornell or Hawaii?
  2. Thanks for the post! A question - How do students survive on a 15k stipend then?
  3. For those waiting for Washington, the recruitment weekend is something like 5 March. (sorry, bad phone connection - couldn't hear too clearly)
  4. Thanks! Good to know!
  5. That's good to know, since I won't be able to do a campus visit. I've only been to Canada once, and loved it there.
  6. I was the admit. Think the 35,000 CAD doesn't cover tuition, though. I just woke up and was kinda groggy - should like read between the lines before posting such stuff. Tsk tsk me.
  7. Results board has been eerily silent for History the past couple of days.
  8. Quite unfortunately, that's my guess, too. They don't usually e-mail rejects, and people reject pool find out via snail mail. Erm, unless your potential advisor is in Timbuktu, and had no way of knowing that you were admitted.
  9. They have bets on whom amongst us will crack first!
  10. Thanks for asking on our behalf!
  11. I am feeling kinda nervous because Harvard historically notifies rejects via postal, so we won't be hearing anything from them until much later if we are in the reject pool
  12. Congrats!
  13. Congrats to the Harvard admits! Does anyone know if Harvard is done with admits?
  14. For whatever it's worth, last year, when UW admitted me without funding, the official letter was dated 23 Feb, and it took forever to arrive, since it ended up in my mail box without any prior warning like e-mails or something. They were much faster this year, since they are offering me funding this year.
  15. Could be a good thing - maybe you're on some waitlist.
  16. I got an e-mail offering acceptance and funding yesterday from UW, but I am not an Americanist.
  17. Thanks! Good luck to you, too!
  18. And that would be a second time from Cornell for me.
  19. You're probably not that far off from the truth, either. I think they had close to that number last year.
  20. Couldn't be worse than last year? If you look at the history, they're still within their usual timeframe, maybe just a day or two off. Guess they wanted the weekend to mull over things? ... or maybe not!
  21. Try not to worry too much? Based on my experience, they are pretty forgiving with late-arriving materials. Have you sent an e-mail asking about that? Good luck, though!
  22. Southeast Asia history - definitely limited where I could apply to.
  23. Thanks! All info is always appreciated! Off to another weekend of nail-biting!
  24. Actually, my friend was notified by Cornell 13 Feb last year. I just wasn't in a position to add that result on my friend's behalf.
  25. My money is on Cornell and Harvard.
