  13. All hail Damh, Ox God of Graduate Admissions.

  14. Last full week of February! Thank goodness.

  15. If the marriage and the house are in the future, living apart for a couple of years isn't going to kill the dreams you've made together. In fact, it might be useful to think of it as "the last hurrah" of you're independence. I think he really gets a weighty say in what school you accept if he's planning to move with you right away. Two years will fly by, and you'll look back at this time in your life and cherish the special visits and weekends spent together. Stand strong, lady! It's all going to be okay.
  16. No. My husband wasn't told that he was wait listed until he sent a follow-up email to the admissions committee. Had he not emailed them, he would have never been officially notified of his status.
  17. I told my boss when my husband got his first acceptance. Unofficially, they'll have around five months to replace me. Officially, I'll give a month or so notice. It all depends on your significant other's relationship with their superiors.
  18. I'm an administrative assistant at an NBC affiliate, a theater instructor for a local childrens' arts conservatory, and I compile fund drive materials for a local NPR station. I stay busy.
  19. Omega, read the fine print in the terms of the agreement. You may find that it says something along the lines of "an early acceptance or refusal would be appreciated" prior to mentioning the strict April 15th deadline.
  20. My husband is in the same boat. He received his official acceptance in the mail today and they too have a deadline of March 15th. Unfortunately, my husband doesn't have his interview for his current top choice until March 4th! What do we do? He doesn't want to risk having the offer rescinded.
  21. Berkeley may not get too warm, but if you travel 15 miles inland during the summer, you'll hit 100+ temperatures. I was raised about 40 miles from Berkeley and it can get hot, hot, hot.
  22. No answers due for another month!

  23. Another one bites the dust?

  24. My husband awaits So I continue to press refresh, but nothing
