Uhmm I dont think 3.36 is too low. It is kind of lowish, but it is not low enough to exclude you from anywhere. 3.36 is not abysmal. Is ur UG GPA 3.36 or "it drops just below 3"? If the latter was the case, then yeah it is kind of low. Although, given your research experience and the fact that the committee knows you, I think that'll be enough to tip the scale your way. If you address all of these issues in your SOP (GRE, age, etc) , I think you'll be fine. Im optimistic for you . Hopefully you applied to a LOT of programs . That'll increase your chance of acceptance (not just you, everyone really).

You can ask the admin/secretary (politely) if they have sent out all of the admits or not.. In an ideal world, they should be able to answer such simple question. Best of luck Adinutzyc!

I'd say interviews are good signs. It's like you are included amongst shortlisted candidates.

Havent heard from them either. In another subforum --forgot which one--, someone posted that they received an interview request form the CS dept of Rice. Not sure about his/her area of interest though. I thought I have a decent shot at rice.. bummer

I wont mention anything about having an interview with school#1. I'd just be vague and ask for possible rescheduling.

I am not sure about your specific program. But the programs that I applied send their interview requests in waves. You can ask the department if they are done sending interview requests. Dont loose hope till you get that rejection letter!

Hi epidemic, Can you share what did he ask you during the interview? Im stressing over my interviews as well.. Are interviews some kind of "knowlege tests" where the interviewer ask hard questions or ask you to proof something or are these some kind of "sanity checks" for their prospective students?

It turned out that they were not done sending interview requests yet, as I just got mine this morning.... YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY The moral of the story is: Do not loose hope until you get that rejection letter ... yayyyy!
