  1. Hi there - I applied in the early notification round and got accepted in late Dec 2018. I had my interview in early November 2018. Have you been interviewed yet ?
  2. Hi there - I actually applied to the MIPP program for fall 2019, and I got accepted in the early notification round. I was seriously thinking about the MAGP program, but I already have an MPA in which part of the MAGP covers. I figured the MIPP was the best for me then, also I want my weekends free (other then studying). As for me - I have an MPA with 13 years of professional experience (political, IT, DOD contracting). Hope this helps.
  3. Anyone from SAIS know anything about the new doctorate program that was announced last week? They have an info session later on this week, but I am unable to attend. I applied to the MIPP program for fall 2019 (notified late Dec 2018). The DIA program includes obtaining your MIPP as part of the program. Thanks. https://www.sais-jhu.edu/content/academics#doctor-international-affairs-dia
  4. Anyone here applying for the Victims of Pan Am 103 Flight Scholarship? Applications are due by Feb 21. https://www.victimsofpanamflight103.org/legacyaward

  6. Good Morning ! Former SU Maxwell Alumn Here - The MPA program (One of the Best) just started its online program a few years ago. I did the MPA program 10 years ago though. GRE/GMAT are not required. You should check it out. https://onlinempa.syr.edu/
  7. Any takers who at least plan on applying to the Elliott MIPP program for 2019 entry?
  8. Did you at least hear back on getting in or not?
  9. Have you been interviewed several times over the last 6 months or so ? I would add a section in your resume called public policy advisor / contributor (work experience area) and then list the times or examples of public policy you talked about on TV or on the news. I would then mention some of the experiences in your personal statement.
  10. Average GMAT and GRE for MA students at SAIS http://www.sais-jhu.edu/content/admissions#our-students-class-statistics GPA (middle 50% range) 3.34-3.76 GRE Verbal (middle 50% range) 155-164 (68-87 percentile) GRE Quantitative (middle 50% range) 154-163 (55-85 percentile) GMAT Verbal (middle 50% range) 37-42 GMAT Quantitative (middle 50% range) 47-50

  13. Did you apply by the early round ?
  14. I got in too for the MIPP in DC !! :)
  15. December 21 is almost here - Fingers crossed. Do they send an email to you about letting know if you are in or not OR do you find out through the application portal?
  16. Hello ! Anyone here applying for the GWU Elliott MIPP program? I submitted my application earlier this week for Fall 2019 entry. If I go to school there, I plan on going part-time, while working full-time - but I am considering going full-time in the Spring / Fall 2020. I plan on concentrating on cyber / space policy, which a regional focus on Middle East. (FYI - I am also applying to the SAIS MIPP and AU MIS Programs.)
  17. Yes - I applied for the MIPP program in DC for the early notification round.
  18. I believe notifications are being released for all of early round applications on Dec 21. https://www.sais-jhu.edu/content/admissions#important-dates
  19. I have 15 years of experience with a Masters degree and my professional resume is 2.5 pages long. For graduate school for 2019 potential entry (for mid-career Masters), my graduate resume application is 5 pages long. My graduate school resume lists additional job duties of current/prior positions, leadership experience, received awards, publications, study abroad, and extra-curricular activities (during undergrad and post-undergrad /graduate school). Hope this helps.
  20. Dang that is pretty close. I would contact their office directly and ask them the same questions you are asking us. Also - Is there a section in the application where you can add additional information and explain your situation… For example, maybe why you had a bad semester ?
  21. Hi Mliliu - Which program did you apply for ? I received an email from them late last week and they indicated the decision will be emailed on Dec 21.
  22. Hi there - In my personal opinion, I would go with the following. Tie for First - WWS (Big Endowment), HKS (Big Endowment Here too), MSFS 4. SAIS 5. SIPA 6. Fletcher
  23. I had my MIPP interview this week, but I'll find out in either Dec or mid March if I am in. I am hoping I find out in late Dec.
  24. Did you end up going to Syracuse ? You are nuts if you passed them up since they are the number 1 or 2 program in the MPA world. I graduated from the MPA from Cuse and a lot of us all work in the federal government world. I left DC with 5 years of experience to attend Cuse but ended up right back in DC.
