  1. Rejected from UMN... sigh. I forgot how horribly demoralizing this whole process is.
  2. It's definitely the best rejection letter I've gotten thus far. Sorry dear. It does really suck that you and Gene had to start the morning off to that.
  3. The status on applyyourself for Minnesota changed to "final review" this morning... good or bad news will be coming from there soon it seems. Did anyone besides me apply to Minnesota Twin Cities? I'm really curious.
  4. Man, I really want to hear about Minnesota. I don't have much hope that it'll be good news for me at this point. It doesn't seem like many people who post on the forum have applied there (or any at all). I guess I'll hold out some hope a little bit longer, but I'm really ready to just get all my decisions and be done.
  5. Good sign!! /knocks on wood.
  6. Another IUB rejection up! I hope it wasn't for AFB!
  7. HOLY CRAP! For Wisconsin, from what I hear, that sounds AMAZING! Congrats times a billion.
  8. sorry! But you're right, no tough decision for you! (Unless UW gives you ten million dollars.)* *over estimate
  9. Sigh, yeah, I still have two more shots at it this time, plus waiting until March to hear about the last MA. TMP, you show that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope in two years I'm not one out of between 300 and 600 competeing for less than 10 spots... BAH.
  10. It was vaguely personalized, as opposed to "Dear Applicant". And I should hope that you don't get into a conversation with him, when it is a woman named Wendy! Good luck! You've proven yourself well worthy this cycle! I wouldn't worry too much!
  11. Oh, if it helps (or not). My last name starts near the beginning of the alphabet. ;D
  12. I know. I'm not giving up. I'm just sad if I wasted all that money applying to PhD programs when no PhD program will accept me. You know? Like I could have saved up for a couch or something.
  13. This is my second try
  14. Siiigghhh. I'm beginning to feel like I wasted a lot of money applying for PhD programs when they don't want me (yes, yes funded MA I remember). I wish someone would have told me not to bother and save up that money for two years down the line. Bah.
  15. Unsolicited email just a second ago. It was personalized (with my name at least) from the DGS.
  16. Andddd, it's a resounding no from Indiana. Looks like it won't be just two schools today... 300 applicants for 10 spots, btw.
  17. Gah, Duke yesterday and Brown today. What a massacre! Sorry to all those rejected.
  18. Slow day y'all. Both here and at work. If the day keeps thumping along like this, I don't know what I'll do!
  19. YES TMP! YESSSS YAYAY! THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY! (I don't know why they call it that... haha). Congrats times THREE! How many more schools did you apply to this time? You've been very hush hush, but you're two for two yes? Pretty awesome feeling I bet.
  20. I emailed! The problem was that no one ever responded to me! I found yet another person to contact on the website, so I'll let you y'all know what (if anything) they say!
  21. Well, I was accepted to UT Dallas's masters program! No other details than "press this button to accept or decline." So I'm not sure what to think! They were the ones who never emailed me back regarding my info being received. I wonder if I should email and ask about aid and stuff... The other other decision for UTD on the survey was from 2010 and was via post. Should I wait to see if something comes or email and hope they reply?
  22. Hahah, okay, HEAR FROM ALL THE IVIES!
  23. For my schools, I think we'll hear about acceptances to Indiana (hopefully more than just that random one) and Minnesota this week. I also bet we'll hear from at least one Ivy (probably Yale or Princeton). This is based on no solid info, just a general guess. Seems like OSU is also sending out things! Addendum: Another guess, but I think Wednesday and Thursday will be the big days for most of this to go down (based on last week. It seems like Mondays and Fridays are kinda meh, unless another school goes all Northwestern midnight decisions on us).
  24. For history, two of us were notified of rejections before the two acceptances were notifitied. The two rejecteds (this sounds better than rejects hah) had their status changed on the website. The accepteds did not. Rejecteds were notified by the department, while the accepteds were notified via graduate school because of their fellowship. Like I said, I don't know if it works the same for different departments, but that's how it went with us.
  25. I think it sounds like a good idea! There was a thread like that last year in March or so where people reported where all they had gotten into and what their plan was. Yours definitely seems more direct.
