Man has it been a bad morning at work for me. I can't wait to peace out of this place and go back to school. I knew I would miss school, but I never thought I would miss it this bad. Reading, tests and papers oh my!

Yeah I don't think you can assume you won't hear anything. Professors don't really work on business time. If your POI is responsible for sending the acceptance or rejection, he'll probably do it whenever he can. I think it's reasonable to not stay on edge all weekend though. Enjoy the weekend!

Thanks for all the guidiance. I guess I've just heard things on this site that had kind of dissuaded me from really understanding the help of an MA. Congrats to the Northwestern acceptances and the one Wisconsin! Edit: Two Wisconsin!!!! Yay Hopin' and Rev!

Also rejected. Yes, I woke up in middle of the night, checked this thread and then checked my decision. Bah I say, bah.

Just to be clear: I was ectastic about the acceptance with funding. I ran around my office and did a happy dance. I'm still happy. I wouldn't have applied to the masters programs if I didn't think they would be viable options. I will take the opportunity and run if need be, but that doesn't mean I won't be sad if more rejections come from the PhD programs.

I know! But it's a masters only, and while there are pros and cons to getting one first, my dream is to go straight into a PhD. I'm afriad that with so many applicants, I'm sure everywhere, that we'll all see those letters, "While your application was very as very competitives, we cannot offer you admission. Only 10% blah blah blah." I think I'm being realistic. Though it's not to say that I feel 100% doomed on the PhD front. So we'll see.

/crawls into blanket fort I'll just go to Kitty Cat University and get a PhD in mousie tossing. I've heard good things and my COI (cat of interest) brings the mousie back to me, which will fund me for at least a few tosses.

I'd like to know how you found out too, Lms. 600 applicants? Man, hope they put me out of my misery quick then...

Hahah thanks! It's Miami of Ohio so it won't be as good as you think, but honestly I think most places are better than Buffalo!

I'm in history, but we figured this out: The people whose status changed to under review got rejected (I got a letter the dated the same day as the status change). Those whose status said "not reviewed" got acceptances. I'm not sure if it'll be the same for y'all though.

I learned quickly that if you wake up puppy, the first thing you do is take it outside to pee. And that you don't let it stop longer than a second anywhere between kennel and grass. EVER.

I really don't like my place of work, so I try to do things other than work quite often. This is less obvious than sitting at other people's desk.

Annnddd rejected from Buffalo. Wah. Very impersonal letter via post. Here's hoping for those of you whose status has not changed yet (seems like y'all will have better luck that dukelover and I).

Mine says under review by commitee. I know someone else's still says not reviewed. Buffalo is crazy weird.

My understanding is, in general, MAs are decided after PhDs. If you are applying to a program that only has an MA (which I doubt is the case), you might could expect to hear earlier. I know Miami only took MA applications, so I expect I'll hear within the next couple of weeks.
