ok lol sorry I'm just super anxious to hear back from UCSD, I was interviewed and I know they only take a select amount per concentration. Did your status change on the website by any chance?

I haven't heard anything. The result says it was an informal email so I think it was just something they got. That said, I'm starting to think those of us who haven't heard a peep out of cal are not going to hear good things at this point.

I'm thinking the same thing. Also with Stanford. 

 

Why has the anthro side of the results section been so quiet the past few days? I think I refresh that just as much as I refresh my inbox.  Anyone else still waiting on their first decision to come back?

I had a dream I was surfing in California with my cat (see avatar). I'm not sure if that qualifies as any sort of supernatural indicator but it was a nice change of dream-pace seeing how I've been so anxious lately. Good vibes to everyone, especially those like me who have yet to receive any decisions!

Ugh so far a quiet day (I know it's still early). I just wish they woke up with the same enthusiasm to send decision notifications as I do to receive them.

Exactly! I guess anonymity and severe disappointment breeds some nasty stuff. 

[So what age are the ages of all you grad school hopefuls this year?]

I was 22 entering my Master's program and I'll be 24 entering a PhD program (with hope!). My current program has a range of ages since the department offers a 5 year MA for undergrads. I don't think age or appearance has anything to do with being taken seriously. It has far more to do with being a decent person to your colleagues and being articulate when you speak up in class.

btw, does it creep anyone else out when someone threatens a program or writes that they'll regret not admitting the person?

I made a filter in my email account to forward anything that included the word "Congratulations" to my phone (because I don't have a smart phone of course). Today I received two. 

"--My Name--, Congratulations on earning your Bachelor of Science diploma from --my undergrad that I graduated from 2 years ago...---....etc etc. Buy our beautiful hand crafted frames to put it in!" .

 

The second was the same email for my Bachelor of Arts diploma.

I've secretly been praying for only one acceptance or only one that was viable (i.e. offered enough funding for Ramen). This happened when I was applying for my Master's. Maybe it was lucky the one viable one was my top choice? But either way, it made it so much sweeter not to wonder what-if.

I haven't received any decisions either :/

 

UCSD told me the adcomm was meeting this week and that they'd probably release decisions next week (fingers crossed!). I'm curious about Berkeley since there have been a few scattered responses posted in the results but so far, no updates on the website for me. No peep from UCLA either.

 

Good luck with your apps! This wait needs to end soon or else I fear I might have an anxiety induced medical emergency (not really but really).
