  1. It could also be by program? I applied for the MA in International Politics and haven't heard anything yet either. Last name is middle of the alphabet.
  2. I think DualCitizen was responding to the Magic 8 ball predictions . Folks have yet to hear back from SAIS, MSFS, or Elliot IR. SAIS said theirs would come out around the 14th and Elliot thereabouts as well.
  3. fenderpete congratulations!!!! What a great way to wake up in the morning! rose wooo congratulations to you as well! It's rainin' acceptances!
  4. Congratulations! May I ask how you received your decision? There was talk that American only sends notifications by snail mail so I'm curious.
  5. When I submitted my SAIS application I received an emailing saying that I should receive confirmation soon that all documents in my application were complete. That email told me if I didn't hear anything, I needed to follow up. One week after I applied to SAIS I received an email saying "SAIS Application COMPLETE." Did you receive this? If so, there is no reason you would be expected to know (and be held accountable for) the fact that your GREs didn't make it there. If you didn't receive the "Application Complete" email, did you follow up with the admissions office? If you did everything in your power to ensure all LORs, GREs, etc reached their office, perhaps it is worth trying contacting them again, as a pp suggested. Good luck, I have my fingers crossed for you
  6. I don't think WWS cares about a few extra points on the GRE. I think ujs in his post above hit the nail on the head about WWS looking for students who are extremely passionate and driven in their field, who are in public service because of their commitment to engaging in national and international problems. A few points lower on a good GRE will not likely prevent an otherwise ideal applicant from admission to WWS. (I say this as someone who also applied to WWS and is unlikely to be accepted or waitlisted.) They look for a specific whole package to complement a whole, very small, class. Unfortunately there's a lot in that equation that we have little control over.
  7. Based on the extreme stalkage I have conducted over the past two weeks, it seems there is a reasonable chance WWS might be next week. GWU, American, SAIS, etc will likely be the following.
  8. My engines have been been unnecessarily revved for seven weeks now... I hope they can hold out through the next three weeks.
  9. At this point, being as proactive as you can is critical. I would call, email, fax ETS until I reach someone, regardless of the time it is in Israel. As soon as business hours open in the US, I would call each school personally and tell them the steps you have taken to ensure the scores arrive. As a previous poster suggested, scan and email to them the hard-copy of the receipt ETS sent you confirming the scores were sent. One school misplaced my ETS scores and once I sent them the scanned copy confirming they were sent they were able to identify it was misplaced on their end and quickly rectify the situation on their end. I am sorry this happened and hope it can be resolved quickly!
  10. Yes, once I hear on Grad Cafe that some have started to receive letters, I will call them for information. I am sure that won't be a problem. My curiosity is why a school with that many international applicants or overseas applicants would employ a notification strategy that would necessitate doing so. It creates more work for applicants and much more for admissions counselors, who are I am sure already overextended during this time of the year already.
  11. Fletcher just posted this update on their blog: "More specifically, we’re aiming for no later than the week of March 19."
  12. piquant congratulations!!!!! That is huge! I am sure you are on Cloud 9 right now!
  13. The fact that an international relations school (with international applicants) sends their decisions out this late and by snail-mail does not make sense to me. I am an American living overseas; if a decision is mailed to me via snail mail on April 1 I will not receive it until April 21 at the earliest. I am sure for others in similar positions it could be even later. Decisions must be made by May 1st? I just don't understand why a school would choose to have their decisions received by applicants only a week before most schools' deadlines for decisions. That isn't helpful for American or for its applicants.
  14. SAIS' email to me confirming receipt of my application said " All admission decisions and financial aid awards will be released online in mid-March."
  15. My application confirmation email from SAIS said this: "All admission decisions and financial aid awards will be released online in mid-March."
  16. Congratulations, alias, legallyproper, and bgreenster! I just got an acceptance from Georgetown School of Government! Highly personalized, very kind email titled "Congratulations from Georgetown!" and sent at 12:30 AM Saturday morning EST! Quite a disincentive to not check emails and Apply Yourself at all hours of the day and night, eh?
  17. Sorry if my post came off the wrong way, jflorezi. Just saw I got down-arrowed for it. It was intended to agree with you that your international experience will absolutely put you in front of others without relevant IR experience. I apologize if it came off as otherwise.
  18. Have you looked at The Graduate School (formerly known as USDA Grad School)'s offerings? It doesn't appear to offer Econ via distance education, but they do offer math and stats. I just glanced at the price of one class and it was $215. More info here: http://www.graduateschool.edu/search.php?action=search&searchtype=course&as_ccode=MATH%2CSTAT&as_ttlist=DE Good luck!
  19. I just complained to my fiance about that email! Evening classes are not convenient if I have not been granted admissions to them
  20. Working at the district manager for KFC is not the type of experience previous posters are referring to. Living and studying abroad certainly will be a boon to your application, no doubt. Between you and an equal candidate whose only work experience is at KFC and who hasn't lived/interned abroad, you would have a leg up. Still, nothing can compare to full-time post-graduate work experience in the field of IR. That's what MYRNIST and others are referring to.
  21. Congrats to the numerous admits so far! So far it seems the majority of responses have been MPA/MPP... is anyone hearing back from IR programs? I'd love to know something already
  22. Congratulations everyone! I'm jealous for you all (I haven't heard from anywhere!) but happy to hear of all the good news. Fingers crossed for more good news on the way for everyone!
