Why oh why can't historiography be consistent?

Thanks ... just started reading books in my subfield once again but now I'm gravitating towards new scholarship rather than the older stuff out there ... I am having a hard time with some of it because I patently reject some of the views they are presenting, so I don't know if this does not bode well for me?

We did discuss that slightly ... Homer's involvement in the New Black Panthers was something I couldn't get too many sources to even talk about off the record ... they feared retribution ... but one source .... whom we shall call "Sart Bimpson" was very helpful with some details
