  1. If it makes you feel any better your family will probably be full of sympathetic people, offering you the same cliched words of comfort that we would here, so you can play a game whereby you imagine them as us maybe? Some one can be goldie, someone can be taybaxter, someone can be AFB or someone can be the wise old SL? No?
  2. Congrats Goldie and Teachgrad!
  3. WOW historians doing math ... and competently ... where is my father to see this?
  4. Sign me up! I woud totally start showing up to those things then! The swag bags have been subpar for years but if there is a grad cafe committee I would be a religious attendant!
  5. Well even still guaging off of estimated numbers from years past, you should at least have seen one person waitlisted from columbia as we had 2 acceptances and 2 rejects here alone. I do have to say mathematics was never my forte so if my logic flawed then you know why
  6. And that's what's piqued my interest the most ... why did only the medievalist hear back ... and strangely enough they didn't waitlist anyone ... so is their cohort set regardless of who accepts and who declines? You would think they would have at least room for 5 people on a wait list or something ... or is my math off?
  7. Immediately! Do not stop at go and do not collect $200 ... Bad Boys I & II are cinematic masterpieces!
  8. outside of princeton did any of the other Ivies waitlist people? Also, is it strange that only one person has been rejected from Columbia so far? Or is this par for the course?

  14. Well since I'm probably going to be sticking around now please don't let the site crash anymore ... imagine trying to refresh on a cell phone, laptop AND a tablet ... you start to look a tad bit crazy ... and after the last "staycation" at the institution I think my visit there will require that I become a permanent resident so please don't give me any more ammo to look loopy
  15. Have you asked anyone on here, if they are in a similar, to perhaps take a glance at their thesis? Or is this a no-no?
  16. I have a six pack of Chernobly .... let's do this!
  17. The "camp followers", if you will, were called "Hooker's army" ... another alternate name comes from a prominent area in NYC called the hook and was famous for the ladies of the evening who resident in the area, i.e., Hookers.
  18. If I don't get the programs I want this go-round I am coming to you next year .. not that there is a 'scientific' method to this process but maybe some of Saff good luck will rub off on me

  21. Positivity is the word of the day!
  22. The bad news, however, is that we have until April 15 if you're on the waitlist

  25. The term "sideburns" comes from the name of Civil War era Major General Ambrose Burnside, who wore his facial hair in that fashion.
