*raises hand* Nothing. Though the programs I applied to said that responses don't go out until late Feb/Early March, so there's that. And I haven't seen anything from those programs in the results survey. Just quietly going crazy in my office...!

I think this depends on your location. In an urban environment with many groups of survivors, your stash houses are likely to be taken over/pillaged. In a more rural/suburban area this might be a good idea, particularly if you have to travel more than a mile or so to scavenge. With night coming on and a broken-down vehicle, it would be good to know that you have a stash of food/ammunition and shelter fairly nearby.

This February has given me a grand total of three new white hairs and four new white eyelashes. Come on, March!!!

No word from any master's program i applied to. From past posts in the results survey, i should hear something this coming week or next...the anticipation is making me crazy!

February is purgatory. I have gotten no responses from any schools. some days i think that's good, that means i'm still in the running. Some days, i just want to cry because obviously, i've been rejected everywhere and they're waiting to tell me. ARG.

Nice! I'm in Chicago, but from WI originally. I think "uffda" (also spelled "oof-da!") was the most-uttered phrase in my childhood.

"Uffda" Wisconsin or Minnesota? I haven't heard anyone say "Uffda" in ages!!!

Maybe you can interpret this email as well... Rec'd from a professor at my second choice school. He is POI and also wrote me a recommendation for the program. "[Redacted personal chit chat] Keep me posted about your graduate school applications. Very hopeful for you. Did you ever have any classes with [Random Guy from undergrad]? I've seen him at the University of [City]. He was accepted into the [Program] for this academic year. (I wrote him a recommendation.) Fingers are crossed. Stay warm today, [Professor Man]" Of course i've spent at least 37.5 hours trying to read something into this.

My parents have a farm. Our plan is to get in my giant truck and barrel through the 'burbs, sticking to smaller highways with few bridges (wouldn't want to get stranded on one!) and using the snowplow attachment to push whatever out of our way. Truck seats 7 and we have one archer, plus three people who own and use guns. Once we hit the farm: fence it off, perimeter patrols, and tons of ammunition. The place is on geotherm and has its own well, plus a river on the property, so as long as we can keep the walking dead out, we might be okay. Our place in the 'burbs is screwed. First floor with tons of glass. We wouldn't last a day there.

i've had dreams in which i'm rejected from every program, and dreams in which i'm accepted to every program. It's always weird waking up after one of those...!
