  1. I think it just really depends on the school. I applied to five schools (Masters programs) and got into two of them. I was similiar to you, 4.0 GPA, a lot of research experience including presenting at conferences, strong statement and letters, but I had low GRE scores. Perhaps those scores are what kept me from getting in to those three schools, but it's possible that based on research interests, those schools just weren't a good fit. I don't really know. Like I said at the beginning, I think it just depends on the school and the program. Maybe when you're looking at schools to apply to, check and see if they have cut-off scores for the GRE.
  2. I hear ya on that financial aid thing. I bet we'll hear sometime this week though
  3. At least you have a time frame! I applied to the I/O program and all I've been told (after inquiring) is that I am "unofficially waitlisted." Pretty sure that's a rejection because I know they have already sent out one round of acceptances and I am not on an official waitlist. I guess I'm just waiting to get the lame news, lol. Do you know if MB&B have sent out any offers yet? Good luck to you! I hope you get in!
  4. Great news! I'm glad that worked out for you! As for me, no, SJSU was not a top choice. Between the five schools I applied to, SJSU was borderline between 2nd and third choice. I actually already accepted an offer from an out-of-state school - they offered an assistantship which covers tuition and includes a monthly stipend. My research interests are a perfect match with the faculty so I just couldn't pass up the offer! It was my first choice school. How bout you? Is SJSU a top choice for you?
  5. I would say that if the deadline is in a few days, maybe you should call again just to be safe. Better to be safe than sorry, right? I applied to SJSU as well and my status says "Referred to Grad Department" with some form called "Student Certification" on my ToDo list. It also has a status of "Initiated." Can you click on "Document Submission ID form" on your ToDo list? I could click on the Student Certification on my ToDo list and it gave a bit more detail. Either way, I think you should call again. Also, I'm wondering if "Initiated" just means that the school has initiated the process of notifying you that it needs to be submitted? I'm not sure I helped much but let me know if you have any questions on what I wrote. Good luck to you!
  6. I'm also seeing the changed information about submitting immunization forms and such, but it still says Pending Admission Decision. I emailed the graduate secretary about three weeks ago and was informed that notifications (for I/O Psych) would go out within the next two weeks. It's been three weeks now and I still haven't heard anything. Frustrating!
