  1. @Pitt123 - One way to think of it is like this..... lets make a comparison to being asked out on a date or even asking someone out on a date. 1-Good- A text does not take much effort 2-Better- A letter or note on your car/doorstep, etc. shows the guy/girl put a lot of thought and care into it 3-Best- Asking you out in person or asking someone out in person shows the most care/interest So when doing a LOCI I would think the same applies 1-Good- An email is something standard that all applicants will do and have to do to say they want to stay on the waitlist 2-Better- A letter in the mail shows the school you are really interested and it is something physical that they will have to open and put in your file 3-Best- If possible, making a visit to a school puts face to name and shows extraordinary perseverance I dunno if that makes sense and we all can't do the 3rd option, so I think a letter would show great interest and possibly bump you up to the front of any waitlist. @cnc__ Luckily my wife has spring break this next week and we will be able to visit each program I am waitlisted and accepted to so I can tell you that all 3 schools have told me they appreciate that I am coming to their school to make the best informed decision for me and my family. Hope all goes well!
  2. Keep the faith! I had exactly 2 wait lists and 6 rejections before my one and only acceptance. Have you thought about letters of continued interest for those schools where you are wait listed also? Put your all into and you will be able to say you tried everything! Hope good news comes 4/8 and 4/16!
  3. I applied to Meridian as my first choice, Pocatello second and Distance 3rd. CONGRATS KaiteLea! And good luck Ballerina18!
  4. Again, Thanks everyone! Lets keep up the good vibes and spirit fingers for those still waiting for some good news! We all work hard and are all deserving of the opportunity to further our knowledge and skills!
  5. @ Daisynic CONGRATS! You deserve it! All that hard work and perseverance is paying off!
  6. lol I was working this morning at one of the charter schools I do speech services at in Pasadena, CA(yes the same Pasadena where Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, Raj, and Amy live). I was having one of my kiddos work on a crossword puzzle and checked my email on my IPAD and when I saw that the little sentence said let us know if you accept or decline I was like wait..... this MUST BE AN ACCEPTANCE!!! so I opened the attachment and it was! It was hard to show any emotion since I didn't want the kiddo to thin I was weird! hahah I had to wait until I got home about 3 hours later to celebrate with my Wife!
  7. WOW! I am sooo humbled to be accepted into a grad program, but I am humbled even more to realize that I was accepted months ago by all of you, my loving SLP family! Thanks for the outcry of support and love! We all need it and hope it continues for everyone in the SLP family! Love you guys(I guess mostly gals, )!
  8. PS- I tried "multi quoting" all of you in this post but it did not allow me to! Thanks to every individual one of you!
  9. My first acceptance!!! Grand Valley State University!!! Biiiiiiiiig sigh of relief!
  10. Yes, I am driving from Cali to Fort Hays. Long drive but my wife and I have always wanted to do a cross country road trip! This is our excuse! I applied to Meridian and Pocatello as well and have seen that Meridian sent out acceptances already, so can only hope for a wait list there too I guess! I hope Idaho sends out Pocatello acceptances tomorrow because it'll be April already. I think it's awesome that you've stayed so dedicated and am happy your dedication has paid off after 3 years!
  11. I called Valdosta this past week and they said mid april to late april they would send out decisions.
  12. I am visiting the school a week from tomorrow(April 7th). I have only talked to Dr. Britten, but he is so nice! I will let you know more about the campus, faculty and city after I visit next week! I am currently on the wait list. Congrats on getting in!
  13. An SLPA in California makes anywhere between $15-30/Hr
  14. @ Katielea I applied to Montana also and I got that email last week about notifying us until today too. I have not heard a peep, but I really don't expect to get into Montana anyways so I'm not too worried. But it still bugs that schools can't stand by their word(s).
  15. I am tri-lingual(almost). I am fluent in English and Portuguese and almost fluent in Spanish. I learned Portuguese in Brazil after high school when I lived there for 2 years on a church mission and since have learned Spanish by conversing with people around me in Southern California.
  16. Hey, I just realized that THIS DREAM CAME TRUE!!!! CRAZY!
  17. That seams like a good sign to me! Yesterday seems like it was just the acceptances for the Meridian campus so maybe you will get in to the Pocatello or online cohort depending on what your first and 2nd choices were.
  18. You can try going to results search and see if anyone has left their email address in past years and email them. Also try going to the comm disorders website of the school and find thesis projects and it may have the students email address.
  19. I see some people are posting acceptances for Idaho State University in the last 10 minutes! CONGRATS! Hoping for a wait list @ least!
  20. @nik24 Congrats! I grew up 20 minutes from Redlands! Great place to go to Grad School!
