This morning, I got an email from Lakehead that the status of my application has been updated.  It went from "Applied" to "Complete" with a message that says "Thank you for choosing Lakehead University! Your application has been received. Your file is currently under review by the acadmic unit. Please note that additional documentation may be requested. The Graduate Studies Online Application section of your myInfo account will provide you with the tools to upload and review the status of the required supporting documents. Please continue to monitor your myInfo account. Your application status will be updated once we receive a recommendation from the academic unit."

Hi! How long did it take for you to receive your official offer letter?

UofA sent out a mass email today (copied from the email): "For ALL post-secondary students applying to an undergraduate or graduate program at the University of Alberta, grades for courses taken in Winter 2020 will not be included in the calculation of admission GPAs." So basically we're flying off who we were last semester, even as potentially wait listed candidates. My GPA would have been higher by a whole 0.17 of a point :(

I was admitted to my second program of choice (BEd After Degree) so I received an email from admissions@ualberta.ca which is the University Registrar's office!

I assume the FGSR will send one out as well soon?

But did you receive it at the UofA email address or the one you put into your application?

The one I put in my application! They only sent additional information, such as a personalized program plan, via the UofA gmail. Notification of status change came to my personal account.

I checked w FGSR about this when I found out a few weeks ago and they confirmed the same for grad programs. I don't think it should affect your application since all documents were due in December so that is the GPA they are basing your admission on - and many applicants wouldnt have had their fall semester GPA associated w that paperwork anyways! And I could be wrong about this, but I don't think programs typically take post application information to determine who gets off the waitlist (but maybe someone can advise me otherwise!). I'm not sure if that helps you at all, but hopefully it relieves some anxiety about your GPA and application status :)

I think the first round of acceptances for UofT health promo went out April 8th so I think there should be another round sometime next week? (fingers crossed)

Anyone hear anything from UVIC? Mine STILL says under review by department

I received an offer a couple weeks ago, but I turned it down last week. Hopefully you hear back soon :) They're great at responding to inquiries about the status of things, so maybe email them about whether a new round of offers will be coming out soon?

Nope I asked them, they said it will be delayed for a few days. Didn't specify any dates now.

Do you mean U of A???

I’m getting tired of the wait. It’s been 4 months since the deadline already.?

My friends that applied to US schools got their decisions in less than two months even with this outbreak.

I don’t know why admissions from Canada are tarrying this long.

Not only US even UK is super fast in giving decisions but Canadian universities are taking many months for giving the deadline this is frustrating and leading to depression

It’s annoyingly funny.

A friend applied to NYU global health in late February and has paid acceptance fee this week. I applied to U of A since December and yet to receive a decision.
There’s no set date to receive a decision anymore. I think it would have been nice to know if we’re being waitlisted or rejected so that we don’t get false hopes.
