Thank you !!Same ! I didn't want to scare my office but I just did a little happy dance at my desk lol are you definitely going to pick BC or are you waiting for more offers. I'm just waiting on BU but I am leaning more towards BC, and might attend the Admitted Students Day in a few weeks

Congrats to you too!  I feel like the wait for BU has been brutal!  At least they said they may be sending out decisions earlier than the end of the month.

Thank you! And yes it has been brutal ! But I'm glad I heard back from someone!

I'm also waiting on BU..but leaning more towards BC but it all comes down to money and if I got accepted lol. I was planning on applying to Simmons only if I didn't get in, plus I wouldn't hear back now until after BC's deadline. I was thinking about going to the admitted students day but I work 9-5 and can't take off anymore time seeing as I'll prob be going VERY part time in June?

I hear you, we are in the same exact boat!  I work 9-5 as well so I'm going to have to figure that out, because I haven't visited BC before, I went to the information session for BU and did the tour but I didn't get the chance to do that for BC and I really want to check it out

I would probably just go for the whole day, because its a 2.5 hour drive from CT to the school, so by the time I drive back down I'll be looking to leave work anyways lol

I did enjoy the confetti!  I got a $10000 per year scholarship.  I've never done the asking for more thing, so I wouldn't know where to start.  If I get the nerve up, I might see if I can use this as a bargaining chip for a bigger scholarship at Pitt.

Expand

FYI - I tried to engage Pitt about the scholarship offered (using UChicago as a reference), and didn't get anywhere. She suggested I revisit fellowship applications and attend an informational session this Saturday.

Good to know.  I am joining the information session online this weekend just so I can refresh on the fellowship applications.

Ya'll

I think I am about to sound REALLY dumb but I need to ask regardless, for those asking about financial aid packages/scholarships. How does that work in the application process? I'm really confused because I thought you would fill out your FASFA (for financial aid) and then request the schools that you are applying on there? Then the schools would see what your need is and give an offer based off that. Is this correct? I know that the FASFA deadline is coming up, so does this mean that everyone who applied for priority completed their FASFA earlier? How was this possible when employers have untill the end of Jan to send W-2 forms.

Again, I feel like an idiot but I'm just confused.  I'm the first in my family to ever apply to grad school and the whole financial aid thing can be confusing. Is it the same as undergrad?   If anyone could explain that would be great!

Sorry again but I really appreciate this forum. It has helped me out so much as a first gen applicant!

You submit with the 2018 tax info. :) I filled out my fafsa when it opened in october. It’s largely the same as undergrad but you only account for your income. It’s independent filing.

Hey guys! I was accepted on Monday to CU. I just checked my portal and it looks like my information has also been updated to just include my term and program. I also have the same note "Please note that you may change your Method Area and Field of Practice selections prior to matriculation or during your first year of study. Click here for additional information regarding Method Areas and Field of Practice."

I hope that this gives you guys some peace of mind! Try not to jump to conclusions (I do the same).

Those of you who have interviewed with Penn: do you mind please sharing the questions they asked and just how the overall experience was? Also any tips are welcome! Mine’s over video chat on Monday. Thank you! :)

also - accepted to BC earlier today with a pretty generous scholarship!

I've been accepted to Case Western and WashU in St. Louis. Both schools offered me a scholarship for about $17,000/yr. WashU said they will be sending me a need based award as well sometime this month. Case Western is probably out probably out of my price range since I won't be receiving any more money from them but hopefully WashU will get more affordable. Still waiting to hear from four other schools.
