I have a 3.93 GPA in my last year - i work full-time in public health communications and as a TA for public health-related courses. But, I have only taken a basic undergrad stats course as opposed to multiple courses, and have zero research or data analysis experience. i would just like to know if i'm in or out!

usaskgirl99 Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 Hello everyone! I received acceptance to Usask March 19th. I'm new to the forum, and the MPH community!

I am 22 and graduating this year with an undergrad in Health Studies (Bach of arts and sci), with an 89% average. About 50 hours of volunteering in my community, one research paper and conference presentation, and a few other minor academic contributions as well as maintaining work in a health minded setting part time throughout my undergrad... hope you hear back soon!

MPH2021Canada Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 I declined the offers from Dalhousie and UVic, I hope this brings good news to waitlisted colleagues.

I had also checked that off to be considered for the Global Health Systems program. I haven't heard anything back regarding it and not sure how that works apart from the normal admission offers. If you end up reaching out for more info, please let me know what they say I would really appreciate it!! Hello again! So I just called and they said that they provided names of the students to the Global Health Systems program, but the program themselves haven't asked for any applications (and it's unsure if they will - the spots might have all filled up). Also if you are waitlisted then they do not send your name to them. I was told that waitlists should expect to hear back only after June 1st - and that there might be more spots available even late into August due to the possibility of international students not being able to be here. So fingers crossed and anotherrrr long wait! Edited April 26, 2021 by hopeful2776
Natasha7 Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 (edited) Inquired about second round offers for UofT Epi once more and received this reply Dear applicant: All applicants will receive a written letter of acceptance or rejection by June 30th. Please do not contact the Programs or the Graduate Office to inquire about Admission Decisions as they cannot be released over the phone or email. You will be notified with an official letter. Timeline for application process is available at Timeline for Application Process - Dalla Lana School of Public Health (utoronto.ca) Edited April 26, 2021 by Natasha7

MPHer2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Waiting on uOttawa really anxious to see that people have already received rejections. Is that typical for rejections to go out before offers ? Did anyone get a positive response from uOttawa yet?

I noticed that the Global Health System applications are still open and was debating if I should apply separately but it would be a waste of money if I get rejected by the MPH program but get offered the GHS. Maybe I'll contact GHS and see what their status is on available spots. I hope we hear back with some good news early June. The wait is definitely long, but hopefully worth it! hopeful2776 1

bbap12 Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Still waiting from the UofA I'm very shocked at how long this is taking?

I was lurking last year's thread and found that some people were still waiting in June, like whattttt? If anyone still waiting on UofA is willing to email and ask when they are planning on giving us an update, that would be great. The last time I emailed two uni's I got both rejections the next day, hence I am scared to email myself ?
