I heard back from UChicago CNS on Friday, I got a call from one of my interviewers and then a few emails from the department later about logistics (finances and visiting). I emailed 2 schools and they answered right away. I know it's common for students to email. Maybe they have a lot of applications this year. Best of luck!!
