Did everyone who got the acceptance email from MIT get it at the same time?

I got mine at 9:45am EST. They didn't update anything on the gradapply site. They created another site for admitted students and sent us the login info. I'm assuming everyone else got waitlisted info by email rather than through the portal.

I'm wondering the same thing. I applied to the program as well and haven't been contacted, wondering if decisions are given all at once, it looks like acceptances were given over a few days.

Out at MIT - just got a nicely worded, generic rejection email. Didn’t expect to get it in at all but it still stings a bit. Congrats to everyone who made it.

Same, I just got mine as well. Definitely ouch. Congrats to everyone and best of luck with your other schools!

Does anyone know why all my programs I've applied to have a April 14 deadline but Cal Poly SLO has a 30 day deadline?

In my Congrats email from Cal Poly, it said I have an acceptance deadline of 30 days (March 15) from receiving the email.

I'm stressing out since I haven't heard from some of my other programs yet and from the schools I have been accepted to I have not received any funding info.

I'm a person who likes having all the options in front of me and deliberate using pro/con lists before making a decision.

It would not be a problem if Cal Poly was not one of my top choices but it is.

Interesting that Cal Poly is not a member of the 15 April Resolution https://cgsnet.org/resources/for-current-prospective-graduate-students/april-15-resolution/#:~:text=The April 15 resolution is,that also include financial support.  Perhaps call (and then write) to ask for a little more time?

I just called and spoke to the admissions counselor. They said they can't extend it, but there is no financial obligation and that if I accept it now and change my mind, to email them (preferably sooner than later) saying that I want to withdraw my application and that it's fine if that happens. They said they try to take the side of the student first, and understand that other offers or financial situations may occur.

Thanks. This is very helpful.

Yay! Admissions rolling at Queen's. Received email offer about an hour ago. No mention of funding. Does anyone know if SURP typically offers any $?

Aaahh omggg congrats!! Haven't heard from them yet.

"University wide graduate scholarships bring $10-$15,000 per year. First class students are automatically entered into these competitions in March.

To be considered for funding:

You tick the box "Wish to be considered for Financial Aid" in the on-line application. We do the rest. The larger Queen's awards competitions results are announced in April or early May. There is usually a second round of internal awards in late May, after the results of the big provincial /national competitions."

I hope you get good funding! Sounds like they're pretty good with it.

Yes they did. Still not out since there are so many attributes, but if I get a better offer I will defiantly take it.

If anyone is on the waitlist and this is your top pick let me know.

For anyone looking at Portland State who was spooked by the email about no grad assistantship funding, I’m pretty sure that doesn’t apply to other PSU departments outside of Toulan! There’s a ton of interdisciplinary planning-related labs run by the geography, environmental science, and civil engineering departments for example. I’m reaching out to a few of them right now

Wow. I might do that. How are you doing that. Are you just emailing individual professors?

Yes lol, I’m sure there’s a better way to finesse this situation but I don’t know about it.

I’ve also heard that it’s sometimes possible to get an assistantship at Toulan later on during the first year of the program even if we weren’t offered one upon admission, but I’m not sure that’s a gamble I want to make…
