@chongmkt Hi. Thank you for the pep talk! I saw you posted on the other thread that you were rejected from UMich? Would you mind sharing more details? Is it the one with SEAS? I saw people posted their rejections on the result page but I have not heard anything and kinda hoping it is a good thing that I still haven't been rejected.

Hey there MysteriousCong, I received the rejection letter a few days after I saw someone posted about the results. It is for EEB. I contacted the PI and he said that he was disappointed with the result. Obviously heaps of applicants have strong applications and they only have limited slots, so it's all good. He alluded to the specific reason of the rejection as well and while I won't share it here, I was happy that it was one that is beyond my control.

Like what I said, it feels weird because the rejection letter kinda gave me more motivation.

Also, I was informed that ESPM interviews happened recently and admission letters will be released around mid-Feb.

Who then interviewed, none shared the news on gradcafe.com !

Crazy

I guess no one cared to share it. Accordingly, hundreds applied but ESPM only has around two dozen slots.

This waiting game is really doing me in.

Well you're not alone.

I've heard from Columbia and UC Irvine but Stanford E-IPER is my top choice plus Harvard OEB with no update so far.

I hope you had a favorable response from Columbia and UC Irvine!

I can't wait for the Canadian universities to release results as well.

Anyone heard anything from Yale? The interview should be out from last years experience.

So far haven't heard anything from Yale other than an email saying I need to complete financial aid application by 15 Feb.

I haven't heard anything about an interview either, I skimmed through the Env. Management & Policy forums from previous years and it looks like they got the interview around the time applications were due, mid December (edit: for masters)

Which program at Columbia did you hear from? Was it for PhD or Master's? Thanks!

For those of you applying to a masters in Env. Management, did you take the GRE? I didn't and I'm wondering if that puts me at a disadvantage.

Even I didn't take the GRE. As far as Yale MEM is concerned, they specifically said that there is no need to give the GRE in the webinar. And that a candidate's application without the GRE scores will not be treated any differently during the admission process. The Bren School says that they will not be accepting any GRE scores from applicants this year. And SEAS no longer requires the submission of a GRE for all masters and Ph.D. programs. I am not sure about UMiami since I didn't apply. But given that most schools were okay with not submitting the GRE, I don't think you are at a disadvantage.

You're right about YSE, I just am getting too in my head because the anticipation is getting to me!! I keep thinking about it too much which is so pointless and unhealthy lol, thanks for your response though. It helped soothe my nerves.

Don't worry, looking at the trends from past years; we will mostly have results in the next 3-4 weeks. Yeah, but I get you; I think with the Ph.D. results coming out, even I am getting anxious. Happy to have been of some help :)

Good luck to all applying YSE--for those admitted and accept, I look forward to seeing you as I will be a visiting scholar of practice next fall!

Thank you so much, hoping for the best! By any chance do you know what the acceptance rate is at YSE?

Has anyone applied for the University of Michigan's Sustainability and Development specialisation ? Because I got invited for an webinar for "Sustainability and Development applicants with the program faculties" and wanted to know what happens in such webinars. ( PS: This is the first time UMich is offering the specialisation. )

Went to the EPP specialization webinar last night and they just talked about seas the specialization and where we had students talking I’m guessing they’d have faculty talking in your case. Pretty standard info session with a Q&A at the end.

Also they said that they’re admissions decisions should start coming out late February and that they’re usually on time with their estimates so there’s that.
