PoliSci27 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Who's wait listed at "University Of Notre DameFlorida", It must be somewhere between Indiana and Florida, may be Tennessee? That's the only way Notre Dame could get better in my book. non humilis mulier 1
bauhaus Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I more curious about the reason for the others accepting me. The only reason i can think about is that (and thats what i see in this forum) is that relatively few people applied to quant method as a subfield.
saltlakecity2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Accepted by Harvard Kennedy School of Government... That's amazing!!! Congratulations!!!
Eudaimonia Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Oh, and I should add that I called the admissions office today at ND: they have NOT finished making their waitlist. I'm not even sure they've made all their admssions offers; the survey this year certainly indicates that they have not. Wonderful!
RWBG Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Accepted by Harvard Kennedy School of Government... The faculty for the PEG program is absurdly good. Seriously.
bauhaus Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Cheers guys, I really hope that you ll have similar luck!
chaetzli Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 seriously, this is crazy... I fell asleep about an hour ago and dreamt the HKS is sending out decisions. this is why I turned on my computer to check gradcafe. congrats bauhaus!
blackcoffee64 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I got into UW SEATTLE!!! And my POI Caporaso (the ideal..ideal person in regionalism and IPE) is going to take me on! dienekes, blaspheming, wordshadow and 4 others 7
grantman Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I got into UW SEATTLE!!! And my POI Caporaso (the ideal..ideal person in regionalism and IPE) is going to take me on! Congrats! Washington is a great school for that field.
TicToc. Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 The faculty for the PEG program is absurdly good. Seriously. Stanford is super absurdly good in quant methods. Seriously. Congrats bauhaus! And hello everyone else. anxiousmike and TicToc. 2
balthasar Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Congrats are in order for both bauhaus and blackcoffee64. Those are some awesome schools you got in. Here's to many more good news, ideally for everyone. Immanuel Boole 1

edost Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 The admissions process is taking a toll on me. I have regressed to the behavior of my nine year old self - I bought a copy of the latest issue of MAD Magazine. Just $5.99 - cheap!
RWBG Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 (edited) I got into UW SEATTLE!!! And my POI Caporaso (the ideal..ideal person in regionalism and IPE) is going to take me on! Fantastic! UW Seattle has produced some fantastic scholars fairly recently; take a look at John Ahlquist for someone doing IPE/CPE work. From everything I've heard it's a great program! dienekes Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I got into UW SEATTLE!!! And my POI Caporaso (the ideal..ideal person in regionalism and IPE) is going to take me on! ME TOO! High five for UW solidarity! And maybe I'll see you the 8th? blackcoffee64 1
danmark Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 so Cornell and Yale are done? even without a waiting list?
PoliSci27 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I've noticed many lurkers here recently (as I type this, there are 7 members and 19 guests reading the thread). I encourage everyone to emerge from the shadows. It won't make you any more neurotic about this process than you already are, and it may even help. The success of the board depends on the flow of information. We are far more likely to accept info in the Results Survey when someone claims it in the forum. twenty-twelve 1
kolja00 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I think the trend of very little happening will continue tomorrow. Next week (hopefully) will be lots of good news for everyone
ginsburg Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I got into UW SEATTLE!!! And my POI Caporaso (the ideal..ideal person in regionalism and IPE) is going to take me on! Congrats! Did you post on result search, saying Caporaso is your "top choice professor in my subject error"?
deleteduser0333 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 (edited) I wish I had discovered this forum earlier, which would have reduced much of the stupid mistakes I made in my own application. Judging from my prospects right now (one admission w/o funding from safety school, one official rejection, 5 more on the way) it is highly likely that I have to endure another cycle. Any suggestions? I wish I knew how important the SoP would be. I'm lucky I have gotten into places, but it is probably the most important part of your application. I'm pretty sure mine sucked lots. Also, don't give up hope!!! 5 more schools to hear from!!! Edited February 17, 2012 by kolja00 Immanuel Boole and AuldReekie 1 1

Congrats for the offers. I wish I could keep up my hopes but according to the survey here the rest of the schools I applied for have already sent out their decision letters (acceptances, wait-lists AND rejections), which makes me wonder whether they took a glance at my application to begin with. I do not know what we can really divine from the survey results posted thus far. It does seem as if many schools have adopted an incremental approach to releasing decisions this year. Perhaps the schools to which you applied have simply not yet notified all applicants. Perhaps no news is good news. Until a rejection note arrives, I would not assume the worst. For my part, I will send positive thoughts your way, and hope that you receive notices of acceptance soon. Edited February 17, 2012 by iwouldpreferanonymity
kolja00 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Yup! No news is good news especially if rejections are already out!
