ol'spice Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Well... my grad school application prep was a little weird. I thought (due to personal reasons) that I would be restricted geographically, but that situation changed mid-December (thankfully), so I very quickly generated a new list of schools. My research of the programs and their deadlines was rushed and crazy. There were a few that I already knew I wanted to apply to, but the rest (UIC included) were additions that I hadn't yet looked into. I decided to apply to UIC on the day the app was due for the 'priority' deadline (Dec 15). Most of my best work (sculpture) was not yet documented properly, so I simply didn't include a lot of it, and I submitted some horrible photographs of the rest (a bad photo can be a great injustice to any work of art). My statement of intent was also pieced together at the last-minute from a few essays and statements that I had previously written. It was worth applying, though. I knew it was a crapshoot, but I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to at least try to get in. I was more prepared for the rest of the applications that I completed in January. ----------- Also... I received my official hard copy of my admissions letter from CCA today, but still no word on funding. Have any of you heard about when they might contact us about that? I imagined it was something like that (as far as your UIC application)... As far as CCA funding, I'll follow up by emailing their Financial Aid dept. sometime today, since they had me submit some additional documentation after my acceptance ( due to a technical issue with my FAFSA). I had to do that for ALL schools I applied (oh well...). If I hear back with any news I'll email you Sculptor.

leee Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 No news from MassArt yet but still thinking positive! As for good news, I just received acceptance to KCAD (Kendall College of Art + Design) in Michigan with a half-tuition scholarship! Was a little unsure about this program when I applied, and frankly still am. Was curious if anyone has any opinions on the MFA program at KCAD or knows anyone that has had experience there. Thanks! susanbanthony69 1

kazoo Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Hi there, did anybody hear for the MFA program in Fine Arts from SVA Hunter Columbia Pratt Parsons UCLA USC Roski Thanks for some information. Long list! If you do a search in this topic for each school, you will find what others have posted about it. Hunter, Columbia, USC have called for interviews, someone was accepted at UCLA, same for SVA. It also depends on the discipline.

boogie_and_pup Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Hi I'm a long-time lurker, first time poster. I am pretty young to apply for MFA's and I only applied to my two dream programs MIT and Stanford. Rejected from Stanford and eagerly waiting on MIT. Has anyone heard anything from either of these schools?
