I think I'm officially depressed. I haven't heard from a single school yet. Guess I'm gonna end up doing a masters from LSE.

There's still a ways to go.

Dude, Wemayet. Have you also still not heard from Minn? When do we hear from Minn!? The website tells me nothing! It's driving me crazy. ):

STILL no final word from Minnesota!  I received an email 7:10a on Monday telling me to check my status on their application system... over three days later, there is still NO ANSWER.  If they hadn't sent me that email on Monday, I wouldn't worry about it so much.  Instead, there's is what's happening now... obsessively checking their system, clearing the browser history, so that it's ready to refresh in a few minutes, then being paranoid that didn't work and opening the site with a difference browser program; rinse, repeat, repeat, repeat... auuuaaaauuggghhh!!

Well this has been the most unpleasant mid-morning surprise ever. i must say, those stats do not bode well for my humble courtship with the school of my dreams.

Have you tried calling the department? These online application checkers are so unbelievably unreliable

A master's degree is not a bad thing. It buys you some time to prepare for another round of applications. You can learn from your mistakes and improve. I know a number of people who got master's degrees from British universities, including some from LSE, who then got into Ph.D. programs.

I'm currently finishing up an integrated masters already. But yeah, LSE is a good program. Wouldn't hurt to go there, provided I get some funding.

Nope; but you're right, I need to just call them.

I don't believe that, looks like fake. Nobody is working there at this time. And no one would call so early.

maybe they got called last night like the other admits on the result search, but didn't post it until now?

dunno. i'm all doom and gloom these days.

I sympathize with you, I'm in the same boat. But look at the results board and you will see that a lot of the school you applied to haven't released anything.

I think I'm vastly underqualified compared to everyone else on here.

I am planning to also KCL and LSE. I ve prepared most of stuffs but it is really hard to write a research proposal. It seems you did.

Has anyone spoken to UCLA recently?

I haven't received an accept or reject yet (which could mean waitlisted for funding), and was thinking of calling later.

Anyone else in the same boat?

I do this and I didn't even get an email from them. I have issues. I am also in the IR area with a comparative streak. I probably should have just focused on my IR interests... I guess this is a lesson for next cycle if it comes to that.

If it helps, I also am IR/Comp and got nothing. Maybe they're deciding which of us to waitlist, haha.

I applied to their masters programs. They didn't require research proposals. I actually officially declined KCL's offer yesterday.

At least now we know where they are having problems. I think they should just admit all of us. I am biased, but I do think the IR/Comp people are brilliant.

"Dammit. But we want ALL of the IR/Comp people! How will we fund them, though? Quickly, people! Back to the drawing board!"

I'll take one for the team and "give" up my spot; haha.  Claiming the Minnesota rejection.  Just in time for my road trip, where I will have lots of time to contemplate my track record!  Catch you all late tomorrow afternoon.  Oddly enough, I am happier to receive a rejection than to have to hope and wonder for another day.  Best of luck to you guys; I would take it as a good sign that you haven't received word yet.
