pureuphoria Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Hey folks! This thread has been really helpful in terms of mentally preparing myself for the slew of acceptance and or rejection letters that are to come so thought I'd share! Applied: Yale (MAR Comp.), Candler (Emory), Boston U., Chicago Theological, Union Theological (Interfaith) Just waiting for those responses :/ unacclimated 1
unacclimated Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) Whether the outcome is positive or not, I can't wait until I can make it through a day where I am not obsessively checking my email inbox for a silly notification. Getting through the application process has been somewhat of an accomplishment in itself. You'd be surprised how hard it can be to get just 3 people to pull through with recommendations for just a few applications with 3 months notice. Next time round I think I'll probably shoot for a whole 9 months advance notice so there are no excuses. Edited February 19, 2013 by unacclimated Seatbelt Blue, Samahito and indefiniteintegral 3

Seatbelt Blue Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Oh man. I keep checking even though I know I won't be hearing anything until March, *just in case*. Samahito 1
Body Politics Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Welp, I am sufficiently nervous enough about my doctoral apps to apply to an STM program or two. Just applied to Drew (no app fee, thank goodness). Hopefully this will be a waste of my time and I'll get a great offer of financial aid from LSTC and DU/Iliff (if I even get in there!), but since I've never been great at letting risky bets ride, here goes nothing....
Therewillbeluke Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 Got into Saint Louis today! Seatbelt Blue, Jcosta and unacclimated 3

ForTheGreaterGloryOfDog Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Congrats, ThereWillBeLuke! (I named my dog Luke after my favorite gospel... good choice!) Anyway, I stumbled upon this page and, because hearing others' admissions decisions has given me so much agita, decided to jump in. I am a senior at Loyola University Maryland, recieving a BA in Theology with a double minor in Italian and Catholic Studies and a 3.8 GPA. I have applied, mostly priority deadline where available, to the following M.Div programs: Notre Dame, Yale, Boston College, Duke, Vanderbilt, Harvard, and Loyola Chicago. I have already been accepted to Loyola Chicago; Skype interviewed by BC; and last week was summoned out to ND and went for an interview. I'm getting worried because many of you have heard back from M.Div programs, and I am wondering if I should have!
Therewillbeluke Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) Congrats, ThereWillBeLuke! (I named my dog Luke after my favorite gospel... good choice!) Obviously the best Gospel, it got greenlighted for a sequel. I have already been accepted to Loyola Chicago; Skype interviewed by BC; and last week was summoned out to ND and went for an interview. Congrats on Loyola! I had an interview with BC (for the MTS) today. Edited February 21, 2013 by Therewillbeluke coffeekid 1
Seatbelt Blue Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) I interviewed at BC for the MTS, too. I considered their M.Div., and may well transfer into it, but I wasn't convinced either 1) of the commitment needed for a four year masters when my fiancee has her own career to worry about, and 2) how badly I wanted those pastoral classes. Secretly hoping all three of us go to BC I got accepted by Seton Hall, but they have rolling admissions, so... Edited February 21, 2013 by Seatbelt Blue Therewillbeluke 1
CrisDonlon Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Obviously the best Gospel, it got greenlighted for a sequel. Congrats on Loyola! I had an interview with BC (for the MTS) today. I agree! I wrote my senior thesis on Lucan eschatology. Good luck on your interview. As of right now, like many of you, still waiting to hear from those March admissions decisions. Also still waiting to see what Candler will offer me funding wise. I should hear before February is over.
Seatbelt Blue Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I did my senior thesis on Christine de Pizan. /english major I'm seriously going insane waiting here.
moishemn Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 who else applied to HDS MTS? 20 day countdown...
riseaslarks Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) Hi all, I've been lurking around this forum for awhile without posting. I wanted to let you know that I got a voicemail from Duke's admissions office, and I've been admitted to the M.Div. program. I wanted to ask if funding decisions had been made, but I was away from my phone when the call came. If anyone else has gotten in or knows anything about funding decisions for the M.Div., please post! Thanks, and good luck to everyone! Edited February 22, 2013 by riseaslarks

indefiniteintegral Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Also accepted into Duke's MDiv program this afternoon. They said if you have not already been contacted about a merit scholarship, then you did not receive one. If someone declines one, however, it'll go to someone new. Congrats everyone!

I wonder, does this only apply to MDiv? I am waiting to hear about the MTS.
unacclimated Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Congrats therewillbeluke! I'm totally jealous about Chicago. You can potentially take courses with Jean-Luc Marion Therewillbeluke 1
