emadison Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Does anyone have any information in regards to the general turn around rate for acceptance to American SPA? I know the website says about 3-4 weeks, but I was wondering what personal experiences people on this gradcafe have had for 2013? Today will be exactly 4 weeks and I don't know if I can hold out any longer...
CharKel27 Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I applied to American SPA around November 7th and got my decision on December 21st; not sure that'll help you at all since I obviously applied early but just FYI!
mary.from.maryland Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Yeah it came through an email--subject line was "An Important Message from NYU Wagner" and I thought to myself if this is another freaking email about a webinar...haha. But then the inside said "Congratulations on your admission to NYU Wagner!" They say the official letter of admission will be emailed later today. Weird I got that same email but there was nothing in it but my email and a password, then I got the acceptance email later.
mary.from.maryland Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Waitlisted at Goldman. Waiting for HKS, Wagner and SIPA. Anyone knows when decisions will be released? I got waitlisted at Goldman too. Do you know what the odds are of getting off the list? I think HKS should be around March 15.
campussartorialist Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 NYU admits: does everyone's acceptance letter use this language? "Your SCHOLARSHIP AWARD email will provide information on: Your merit-based scholarship decision etc..." Curious if this is hint at a merit scholarship award or just interesting choice of words.
vetoooooo Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 i received the same letter from NYU, mentioning the scholarship email. i guess we will know the decision in that email, which will keep us three more business days.
CharKel27 Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Weird I got that same email but there was nothing in it but my email and a password, then I got the acceptance email later. That's what I thought too until I hit "display images below", then it shows the acceptance part of the email.
av260987 Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Got into SIS(American)! Yay!! Although, it doesn't say anything about funding Anyone else hear from them?
DCLivin Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I'm in at SIS too (United States Foreign Policy)! When I click on the funding information it goes to an undeliverable page.. Hopefully there will be information in the acceptance package.
Tupacalypse Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Got into SIS(American)! Yay!! Although, it doesn't say anything about funding Anyone else hear from them? Me too! I was watching limitless when I saw the email and it took me like 10 minutes for my heart to stop beating enough for me to check it, can't figure out the funding either.
HDouglas Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Got into SIS(American)! Yay!! Although, it doesn't say anything about funding Anyone else hear from them? Congrats!! I'm in at SIS as well, but nothing about funding. I’d assume awards info would be included in the admissions letter, but pleasant surprise either way.
DaniCM Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I got in, too! Yay! Congrats, everyone! The financial aid page of that welcome thing said that if you didn't get any info about a scholarship in your acceptance letter, you didn't get any funding from SIS. ) : I was really hoping for some money. At least the classes are offered latter in the afternoon, so you can work full time while you go to school.
JFactor Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Got in to AU as well and with full scholarship and a research assistant position! Much more than I expected so I'm really surprised. Congrats everyone!
julst Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 In at AU SIS (International Communication) - can't find information about funding... but still :-)
campussartorialist Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Not much help but I spoke with admissions on Wednesday. They said they're actively reviewing applications and will release decisions near the end of the month. I hope they're just being safe. Anyone hear from U of Mich yet? Or know whats up?
egarza Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I got waitlisted at Goldman too. Do you know what the odds are of getting off the list? I think HKS should be around March 15. I have no idea. Let me know if you hear anything
bless_yourheart Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Am I the only person on this thread who didn't get anything from SIS? This is *killing* me.
leon32 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Am I the only person on this thread who didn't get anything from SIS? This is *killing* me. Me too, I wonder if it's done by degree paths, anyone else apply for international politics?
The Mark Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Am I the only person on this thread who didn't get anything from SIS? This is *killing* me. I didn't get anything either. All this is kinda freaking me out a bit. SIS is the lowest ranked/least competitive program I applied to. If I get dinged, that doesn't bode well for the rest of my apps.
bless_yourheart Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I'm a dual degree candidate (MTS/IPCR).... I've already got my acceptance to Wesley, but they're holding out *all* funding opportunities/scholarships until SIS makes their choice. Stupid bloody Oxford took so damn long with my Econ transcripts that my SIS application was a little late, and I'm freaking out that it may have affected my application.
ss1987 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Am I the only person on this thread who didn't get anything from SIS? This is *killing* me. I also have not heard anything from SIS... I applied for international development
