deadhead47 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 No funding for the GWU. I will go to SAIS (no $)!
julst Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 No funding either :-( Still I think I'll choose GWU over AU SIS...
123seekay123 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 No funding from GW either. They mentioned financial aid but you wouldn't find out until June? Â Might be going to SAIS!
JFactor Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I got funding, 15k for each year. But AU is offering me a full scholarship and since the programs are very close to each other in terms of quality and internship opportunity etc., if I decide to stay in DC for both years I'll definitely go to AU. nphan 1
nphan Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I'm in the same situation as JFactor. $15k from GWU, full tuition and stipend from AU SIS. Inferring from the posts here not many people get a lot of funding. Is Elliott always this stingy?
HAlberts Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Did anyone else apply for the Wolcott Fellowship? Have decisions already been sent out for that? It looks like in previous years the Wolcott decisions were sent out even before acceptances from GW. Just wondering if no news is bad news...  Got funding from GW, $10K each year, which still puts it out of reach, unfortunately.
The Mark Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 No funding. So...the question of the hour: Is Elliott worth sticker?Â
av260987 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I didn't receive any email from GW yet...hmm... I'm sure you'll hear soonÂ
av260987 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I haven't got funding from ANY of my schools. SUCKS!
waltlaa9 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Alright, got my email. They gave me $10k each year. Nice, but not enough to compete with the fellowship Duke is giving me. I would really love to be in DC though....here's hoping SAIS comes through.
ValarDohaeris Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I got $10k per year. I was already going to go to GWU anyway but this makes the deal that much sweeter! Congrats to everyone else.
kingchupacabra Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 No funding   Waiting to hear from SIS, SFS (waitlisted), and UCSD, although that is much lower on my list.
intlrlns Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Got offered $10,000 for each year but that's just not good enough.
Flyers1 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Anyone on here going to the Saturday admitted students day on March 23?
mnboy Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Guess everybody got 10k per year funding eh? Â Any word on the Wolcott Fellowship?
ThePope Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Flyers-- Yes! I'm going on the 23rd. Send me a message if you want to meet up or anything. Â Also, I started a thread elsewhere but want to ask you guys: is GW's public policy program worth 20k more than University of Maryland's program? I got into both, but didn't get funding for either. Maryland would cost me 20k less given in-state tuition rates, which would allow me to live on campus if I chose. Whereas, with GW, I'd have to commute from home given the crazy expense. Â What would you do? 20k extra in debt for GW, or spare myself with Maryland? GW is my first choice, partly due to them having better/more powerful connections, which better positions them to help me with employment or internships. Plus they have a career services element built right into their curriculum, whereas I didn't see that mentioned anywhere at Maryland. Â Thoughts? How much better is GW than Maryland? 20k better, or no?
Miskina Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Do you know if we can download the admission letter? All I can see is the print button...
biscuits Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Do you know if we can download the admission letter? All I can see is the print button... Hi Miskina, Most computers have an option to "print to PDF" when you select a printer. You might also see an option for Microsoft XPS Document Writer. Hope this helps!
Miskina Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Thank you biscuits! It works with the "print to PDF" option.
Hopefulodi Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Anyone on here going to the Saturday admitted students day on March 23? I will be there on Saturday.. Can't wait Flyers1 1
DCLivin Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Hey I applied for the Wolcott Fellowship as well, through the Elliott School. On the fellowship website it says decisions wil be released early April. Time has been moving so slowly this past month..
Pinkman Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Anyone else using the 'reach out to current Elliott students' event on Monday?
