Recommended Posts

Anyone else wake up this morning feeling like they were going to throw up?

I've seen a lot of people on here who have acceptances from Roch. and are headed elsewhere so I hope that bodes well for you!!!

Yes, but it is the beginning of the end, one way or the other.

And thank you all for the good wishes.  I hope everyone here has amazing luck, and that we all learn today and it's a magical explosion of acceptance rainbows.

Going to continue barfing now. Excuse me.

Oh my goodness, I just got my admission letter from Minnesota! The waiting has been excruciating, but finally, I'm in. I hope others who are waiting for good news will also hear them as today goes by!

Congrats!

Thanks, sebastiansteddy, kdy, and girl who wears glasses! This is indeed freaking great!

Concert! Which waiting list were you on?! Haha, congrats by the way, that's freaking great!

I was on the 18/19C waitlist. Are you waiting for Minnesota as well? If so, I hope you hear some good news soon!

Thanks concert! Yes, I'm the poster otherwise known as lo.lee.ta (I didn't realize I was logged in under another username until now). I'm waiting on 20/21 C, so here's hoping! Congrats again, do you think you'll attend?

Maybe I'll get shut out this year but score big next year? You're my inspiration, Swagato.

Hah, feel free. It's no big deal if you're shut out one year--the main thing is to exploit that as an opportunity to get a handle on what you can do to improve your application, fill up gaps, and so on. I'm convinced that the broad faculty input I sought out (and received) played a huge role in helping me use the mere 7 months or so to maximum effect.

And always aim high!

This makes me feel better. Also, in case anyone else here is looking for a way to pep me up, who wants to take the gre for me? Just thinking about retaking that goddamn test is making me teary-eyed.

Ditto.  Aside from all the academic aspirations and fulfilling my dreams, I want to get into school to avoid taking the bloody damned test again.  ETS is satan's layer, and I don't wanna go back.

Also congrats Concert!!!!!!  Just don't look at our weather.  The university is great.

Oh, then I do recognize you :) I'm still waiting to hear from a couple of schools so I need a bit more time to decide whether to attend or not, but I feel quite inclined to Minnesota at the moment. I hope you make it in at Minnesota, and I think you have a good chance as 20/21C waitlist seems to be more dynamic than other waitlists. Good luck!

Well folks, it looks like I will not be going to Minnesota next year--I got a very nice email from them this morning saying they would not be able to offer me a spot in their program. I'm not too disappointed, though, because I am extremely excited about what I will be doing instead: completely ROCKING a 2-year funded M.A. at a school, in a place, and with people I know and love, after which I'll get to do this whole thing over again! WAHOO, the excitement is killing me! ;)
