ERR_Alpha Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 For people who got invites to BU PiBS: When did you submit your applications? I did mine early November, but they didnt add my official GRE scores to my app until very recently, so I'm not sure if my app has been reviewed yet. How can you tell if they have your official scores? Their application is so confusing!
RatsWithHats Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I applied to Cell and Molecular Biology..are you going to the January interview? Yes I am, will I see you there? I can't believe it's in just a couple weeks. I submitted most of my apps the week of thanksgiving so this whole thing is happening so fast.
Chimeric Phoenix Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Just got an email for an interview with Johns Hopkins! BostonBio153 1

DirtyLabCoat Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I got an email from the program coordinator for UCSF BMS saying that the interview invitations would not be sent out til early/mid january. did anyone else get this? I got the e-mail that said actual decisions would not be out until early/mid jan
marisahom Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I got the e-mail that said actual decisions would not be out until early/mid jan Yea it says "decisions may be delayed until early/mid-January". But that means we won't get notified about interviews until then, right?
DirtyLabCoat Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Yea it says "decisions may be delayed until early/mid-January". But that means we won't get notified about interviews until then, right? I assume so. Otherwise that's really early decision offers lol
ss2player Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Just got an email for an interview with Johns Hopkins! Â Look at you! Congrats!
pstar465 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 How can you tell if they have your official scores? Their application is so confusing! You can re-enter the application and click "Test Scores." It'll have your self-reported scores, and if they received your official ones, it will have those listed as well.
antibody89 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Yes I am, will I see you there? I can't believe it's in just a couple weeks. I submitted most of my apps the week of thanksgiving so this whole thing is happening so fast. Â Yep..see you there..yea I submitted my apps during that time too so I'm glad that MSU was quick about interviews...have you started preparing for you the presentation?
darwingirl Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 So are most schools pretty good about letting you change interview dates if you have a conflict? And does anyone know how rejecting an interview (because of scheduling conflicts) affects your acceptance?
persimmony Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Â It is PiBS. I had to choose the Feb date, because I'll be in Austin on Jan 24. I'm going to be flying straight from san diego to boston on feb 9 though though. Glad I'm only taking 2 classes next semester. And I hope my lab mates won't mind taking care of my rats every weekend. Â I'm going to have to do the same thing, but flying from Duke directly to Boston. Who is paying for your san diego--> boston flight? SD or BU? Trying to figure this out for myself at the moment.
Eatin' Biscuits Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Just got an email for an interview with Johns Hopkins! Â Congrats! Did you apply to the school of medicine or school of public health?

mvp713 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) Long time lurker here... was freaking out about everyone receiving interviews.  I just received an invite from UT Southwestern's Immunology program! They sent an email that links to a survey regarding date preferences and contact information.  Overview of stats.. - Undergrad: 2 years at junior college, transferred to school in the UC system (Molecular Biology) - GPA: 3.4 (GPA of major classes was closer to 3.6) - Graduated March 2012...been working at UCSF as technician/lab manager since June 2012  My general GRE scores were above average. Biochem GRE was f'ing terrible (54%) but I still sent it everywhere.  I have also applied to:  - UCSF Tetrad - UC Berkeley MCB - UCLA ACCESS - UC Davis Immunology - WUSTL Immunology - University of Washington Immunology - UCSD Biomedical Sciences - Stanford Immunology - UT Southwestern Immunology (interview)  Congrats to everyone that is hearing back now and if you haven't, don't worry...I have crappy statistics compared to the rest of this forum and felt pretty bad until 15 minutes ago! Don't give up! mvp713 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Hopefully invites start being sent out for us tomorrow   I know for a fact Stanford doesn't send anything until the turn of the new year..same with UC Berkeley MCB.  I figure for UW and UCSF it's just a matter of time now.
