vtwxgrad Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Those who applied to McGill - before getting the accepted/rejected update on uApply, did your status ever go to "In Review"? Mine has been at "Submitted" forever and I hope they're at least looking at it by now.
inableakvision Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I am seriously feeling so discouraged. It seems rediculous to wait four weeks until sending out another wave of offers. Every Friday for a few weeks is totally reasonable. Plus, it seems crazy that someone wouldn't be filling in for Angela if she was off. Going nuts. Same. I also just got my rejection from the Counselling MA at McGill University and that was my plan B... I'm actually freaking out right now. So discouraged.

Mine has been at "Submitted" forever and I hope they're at least looking at it by now. I didn't apply for the MSW at McGill, but for the Counselling MA and mine said "In Review"... I think you should call/e-mail to see why/if it is normal your status hasn't changed to "In Review."
MostlyM Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Same. I also just got my rejection from the Counselling MA at McGill University and that was my plan B... I'm actually freaking out right now. So discouraged. I'm sorry to hear this. I feel your pain. This is the hardest thing I've done in a while. I am completely consumed. Fingers crossed for good news for you soon.

Bettyg Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I applied to the 2 year program at McGill. It changed to in review a while ago. It changed to decision made yesterday and I was rejected. I would definitely call if you applied to the 2 year.
magfish Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 4:10 and still no ROSI change. I knew getting my hopes up that Friday would be a day of acceptances was silly, but ugh. Thank god I've got an insanely busy and distracting weekend planned! Everyone remember to practice some self-care these next few days - this is so stressful but we all deserve to take some time for ourselves if we can. purplegrey 1

purplegrey Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Thanks for reminding me magfish. I am now fully determined to finish this 18 page paper by Saturday evening (due Monday) so I can take Sunday off and go out for brunch, buy some tea, take a nice walk, and indulge in tv, hehe. Remember everyone - it's not over yet. Let's try to enjoy the weekend What are peoples plans this weekend? I also want to thank everyone on here. It's been such a supportive community and I'm happy to be part of it. I honestly wouldn't be able to get through these days without everyones support <3. Thank you 4:10 and still no ROSI change. purplegrey Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I agree! I don't even expect it to change anymore. Yeah, now I feel silly for anticipating today all week long. I am so sick of seeing the words "no registration history"

I don't even expect it to change anymore. I am pretty sure if it ever does change I'm going to have a heart attack. Or faint or something. Yikes. I totally agree about the supportive community!! I've had a couple people think I'm stupid for coming on these forums but honestly, I don't know anyone else applying to this type of program and it is so reassuring to have a group of us to stress with and be excited for. Thanks for keeping me mostly sane, y'all!
marcia Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 i wish someone on here was waiting to hear back from u of c:(...no mail today, no change in application status or emails..
smpalesh Posted March 20, 2015 Author Posted March 20, 2015 Angela wasn't off today. I emailed back and forth with her a couple of times regarding information on the upcoming year (I deferred from last year). I don't think that it is an every Friday thing, I am not sure why they are notifying some people and not others but their website says you are guaranteed an answer by mid-April so unfortunately it might be a bit more of a wait.
AMetallo Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Ugh I agree with all of you!!! Its so stressful! I think we all had this theory of maybe updating every Friday because we wanted some sort of hope and something to look forward too haha as opposed to knowing now between mid-April. I guess all we can do is wait for next week!! And exactly, there is definitely still hope for all of us because I am sure more of us from this forum will be accepted! If anyone hears from Laurier or Lakehead please let the forum know!! We made it through another week of waiting yay
b39 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I have never been more excited for a weekend to be over and it hasn't even started, I can't wait for Monday and the possibility of hearing something. Just wondering if everyone's sgs still says under review (for those of us who haven't been accepted) I'm seriously starting to get flustered every time I open my rosi and see no registration in bold, stinging red.

I'm gonna be totally honest, I have stopped checking my SGS. I am so so terrified it'll be 'decision made' and my ROSI will still be blank which I think is as good a sign as any that its a rejection, and at the very least ROSI is haven't heard or accepted, it isn't the same finality of rejection. Does that make sense? Ahhh this is driving me crazy.
Fenris70 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Does anyone know typically how long it takes for York university to e-mail back to questions? I emailed them on March 13 but never got a response back. Side-note: You all seem awesome and I love these forums as it is helping knowing others are in the same position!

Administration is notoriously slow and sometimes unhelpful. Sometimes has taken me multiple attempts to get information. I think you should email again. NOTE: I'm a current undergrad.
Tomic123 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Hey all, I've been reading these posts last couple weeks and just wanted to say how helpful they have been. Like many of you, I am also waiting to hear back about UofT's 2 year program, desperately checking rosi every few hours. I've been waitlisted at another university so if I don't get in i'm taking it as that I'm on the right track, just gotta push it a little more. You all are amazing. Before finding this forum I felt like a fish outta water, but seeing all these posts and how supportive everyone is has been incredibly comforting. I really hope I get to go to school with some of you in the future, amazing network of support out there. Good luck everyone!!
Guest Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Yeah, yorks administration is a nightmare, especially the social work department. I did part of my undergrad there and tried to change my undergrad major to social work and emailed in a bunch of questions last year and just. Either silence or totally unhelpful every time.
magfish Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Well, it's 10 to six and no rosi updates now. I'm going to shut off for the weekend and try to just think happy thoughts. Stay strong everyone - Monday brings a new day & new hope!! purplegrey 1

purplemonkeydishwasher Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Hi all - In these crazily stressful and anxious time, where every day drags on, I wanted to give everyone a warm reminder that it is only March 20th, and many, many more people are still to be invited. Most of us have applied to many schools but will only attend one, so if you think about how many people will turn down acceptances, it's a relief to know acceptances will be continually rolling in and there is probably another month left before it's time to start thinking the worst. My friend is in the UofT 2 year MSW and said she heard back last year mid-April - but trust me, I understand the need to know!!

Sherrykeepsmiling Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 hey guys, I couldn't hold back my excitement this morning when I found this thread still going on and involving lots of people sharing common situations - maybe more fellows joining in, and more in-time information flow. Oddly I didn't feel attached to the status thing believing the decision would only came out in mid-April until I found this one It seems I have fallen behind a lot, at least the Friday Call up! Congratulations to those who have received letters! I immediately checked both my mailbox and SGS status which is "under review" always. Hope we all will soon get a reply and thanks to the huge encouragements above hopefully more acceptances will arrive ) It looks like social work is quite a local field as many people have said since most applicants posting here are locals. As an international applicant, I feel great to discover your life experiences and formal language assets here - learned a lot and will keep on that )) aay and wishingonuoft 2
