well, yes.  but i mean: does that ever happen?  that no one who is notified enters it into gradcafe and thus there is no "data" for some schools' acceptances?

Well it has happened a few times where there was only one Berkeley acceptance reported for the first day they sent them out. So it's not unreasonable that zero could happen instead.

Yea, I'm in the same boat: I've been checking my e-mail constantly. Think its late enough in the day to stop hoping for something?

So, four acceptances reported for Duke, and one waitlist. They're probably arguing about who, out of the rest of us, they're just going to accept as an associate professor.

At least, that's what I'm going to tell myself until the ground feels stable.

I've also been checking my email constantly about Berkeley.

Still confident it'll come out this week. Hopefully that doesn't make everyone too crazy. 

(However, I did hear from an reliable source that they heard from an unreliable source that Berkeley isn't releasing for another two-ish weeks. This person is friend's with a prof in the Anthro department who is friends with a Phil prof. (Both Berkeley profs.) The Phil prof may or may not be associated with admissions and the whole conversation sounded sketchy.)

I would say it's really unlikely that someone was accepted. People usually can't wait to tell everyone they got into a top-twenty (gourmet) program.

I just realized that the school that waitlisted me didn't even get my third letter yet. I pinged my recommender again, but it's well over 3 weeks late.

Interesting to me because last year I was so paranoid about dates and times and having everything in way ahead of time.

^ I agree! Just as I gave up hope on Duke and mentally checked "presumed rejected," somebody cruelly posted another acceptance! :S Now I have a sliver of hope again to keep me busy refreshing e-mail... 

Congrats on the Edinburgh acceptance, by the way! I'm not very familiar with the institution, but I know it's an absolutely gorgeous place to be! Now onto waiting for Feb 12th for Notre Dame...

I am waiting for UNC Chapel Hill and Arizona, then comes Notre Dame. I think. If it really goes this way. 

Edinburgh is amongst top5 on gourmet for epistemology.

Same, UNC, Arizona and Berkeley this week (hopefully). Come on Berkeley! I'm dying.

UNC--a little inconsistent. Sometimes Jan 20...sometimes Feb 16. Don't really know if it'll come out this week, next week, or even early the week after

Arizona---pretty consistently the end of the first week of Feb or the beginning of the second week. 

We all know the drill with Berkeley--should be this week...probably tomorrow...but who knows. (Always very consistent though.)

Notre Dame--pretty consistently in the tens in Feb. But may be Feb 10 or may be Feb 18

Maybe in years to come we can come up with a better system for the predictions. It may be better to have indications of confidence, maybe more of a range in the date, and an easy way to show the trends for each school's releases (e.g. everyone knows their decision on the same day, rejections first, acceptances in waves, acceptances and wait lists on the same day...etc.).

But then again, it is pretty fun to see which days we nailed and which days we didn't so much nail.

I have no inside knowledge/haven't heard anything from the adcom or staff, but I have reason to guess not this week. Probably next week or early week after.

Somewhat. Earliest in last 4 years was Jan 27 and latest Feb 10. I would say this weekend to mid week next week.

Great. Also, note that UNC has in the past four years always come out on a Mon, Weds, or Fri. 

Second guesses would be Fri-Feb 12th or Mon- Feb 15th.
