My girlfriend just promised to buy me a synth (Jupiter 8) and a sampler (Volca Sampler) if I don't get into any schools in Boston. I'm a huge synthesis guy. Looks like rejection just got a wee bit sweeter!

Just got my rejection letter from Pitt. Not surprising at all, but still a bit sad.

Email to check the website, generic but polite email from the director of admissions.

I just got my rejection from them too. Like you, it was expected for me (given that the waitlists and acceptances went out). There's still hope for us at other schools!

Looks like University of Toronto acceptances and wait-lists are coming in. Guess I should assume a rejection from there too now?

If you mean for PhD, then definitely not because the posts have been for masters. And even for Masters I'd say no because there are only 2 posts so I would think they're not done sending out acceptances/waitlists.

Oh you're right they are for masters! I'm just so quick to assume the worst now haha. Will still probably get rejected anyway, but hey at least it hasn't happened for them yet!

Still nothing from Georgetown . This was one of my last (semi-)realistic shots at a JD/PhD program. Should I presume rejection by now?

Nothing for me either. It's too early to assume rejection, maybe they are spreading out the calls over the weekend, or we can still hope for the wait list. But man I'm gutted I didn't get a call, and I also can't help but immediately assume rejection. I want so bad to get into Georgetown.

Me too.. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you (or, as they'd say in my home country, i'll "twiddle my thumbs for you"). I'll admit having to restrain myself from calling them today, lol.

Does anyone know what's happening with Chapel Hill? There are only two acceptances and one wait list posted... Are they done announcing and people just haven't posted it?

Hang in there!  Regarding spreading calls, I had a quick look through the past results and it appears that Georgetown tends to span their acceptances over the Friday and Saturday.  So I think there's still hope that you might receive word on Saturday.

Edit: yes, I created an account just to say that.

Thanks for this. I, too, was beginning to be disheartened about not hearing from Georgetown today.

Thanks very much! I hope they do the same this year!

I'd also like someone's input on this.

Here's something that someone else said that might be relevant:

"I did hear from a somewhat reliable source that UNC has had a very busy month/week and, out of the interest of time, might be accepting/waitlisting/rejecting as they go along, rather than solidifying define accept/waitlist/reject pools. So that's encouraging. But the source was a friend of a friend who happens to be a professor at UNC but isn't on the admissions committee... So who knows?

Edit: That was worded confusingly. I heard from a guy, with whom I happen to be friends, who is himself friends with someone tangentially connected to the phil department at UNC but isn't on the adcomm. I'm not friends with anyone on the phil faculty at UNC, as my original wording might have suggested. I'm just a lowly undergrad at a different school."

Thanks! I thought I remembered seeing something like that. I'm still holding on to hope then.

I'm pretty sure they're done, but I'm not entirely sure. I have a good source and they don't typically do waves of releases (even if they are busy).

Woke up to a very kind email from Mark Murphy at Georgetown, telling me thanks but no thanks. This one stings... I really thought it was a great fit.

Me too, I can't believe it, I was so hopeful.
