I've been trapped inside most of the weekend due to the memorial weekend parties going on out at our pool and grill. I'm ready for everyone to just go back to their own damn complexes lol.

I packed today and washed my car ha. I didn't really do anything. My town is quite since all the undergrads are gone. And all day parties sound exhausting!

I could never be a buddhist since I kill all the bugs and spiders. My rule is if you enter my apartment, you die. I have too much stuff and I've decided that I will be an uncluttered person from now on. Or at least until we are done moving! I just finished binge watching gilmore girls and now ready for the revival!

*reminds self to never enter Need Coffee in an IV's apartment*

@Neist You have the composure of an etiquette king! Teach us your ways.

Gilmore Girls is a great show. Watched it sporadically while channel surfing. I'll have to watch all the seasons to understand the revival. In related news, since I'm moving to Oregon, I figured Portlandia was required viewing. Each episode I wonder why I'm watching this then I click on the next one. It's so bad but it's so good.

I felt the same way about Doctor Who. There's only one episode I like (the Van Gogh one) but the rest of them are just meh.

As a side note, I tried to make lasagna.. I was so proud of myself since I never cook. And now I remember why :P

I think I was watching the first episode and there were tree people? I was so lost, they provided no backstory! Plus the fans are super annoying most of the time with their fandom

Try not to judge a show by its fans! Some of my favorite shows are ones that I avoided for years because of their fans :P

I guess thats true! I always find it funny how people get into huge arguments like Stars Wars vs Star Trek. Its like guys, neither of them are real. Of course I get banished afterwards :D

Yeahhhh that's the usual response haha. This is why I never go to the movies, I just wait until its on the internet. I think I saw the newest star wars 2ish months after it premiered?

Not by me! Have you ever seen Blazing Saddles? Love that movie

I would say that I have realistically seen each LotR movie about 100 times each. Saw the first one when I was 7 and have never looked back.

I've seen about 80% of the Star Trek Next Generation.

I'm actually watching Star Wars as we speak.

And I don't really like Harry Potter.

I've never heard of it but I just googled it and it looks great! I'll have to add it to my list :D

Its so funny! I don't want to give anything away though. Tell me what you think after you watch it.

@sjoh197 Love harry potter books but the movies started going off course for me! I've been held against my will and watched star wars too many times. I can only rewatch movies up too a certain book and then I just get bored.

I liked the books as a kid, and like the first 3 movies, but then lost interest.

And I could rewatch LotR and How to train your dragon for the rest of my life and still love them lol.

yeah its kinda weird thinking I grew up with them and I'm the same/similar age as them! Man but rupert turned out super adorable. I love how Daniel Radcliff and Elijah Wood get constantly confused for each other. LotR is pretty great, bf and I always joke about second breakfast

So, question: Why is Gilmore Girls so good? Why do y'all like watching it?

I personally found it very relatable.  Watching Lorelai and Rory was like watching me and my mom.  Sometimes you forget who the parent is or that we're mother/daughter not friends, but there's still plenty of ups and downs.  Also I liked how Rory's character was rather innocent for some time, which is a lot like how I was.  Not every teen girl is sleeping around, having pregnancy scares, and doing drugs and it gets really frustrating to see so much of that on tv.  Some of us were nerds much happier with a book.  The setting of Stars Hollow also appealed to me because though weird at times it was refreshing to see a community so supportive.  It's not easy to find that these days.

@janetjanejune, Thanks! I'm not sure if I can teach any ways, though. It recently occurred to me that this might be a skill that I've developed only because it's possible that I'm older than most of us here. I'm certainly not even middle-aged, but I'm not out-of-college, either. I turn 33 this June.

Oh my god. You've named 4 of my favourite movie/book franchises. They're all such awesome stories! But I will never judge anyone for not seeing them or liking them. At some point though, you should get round to trying one that most appeals to you. I'm biased towards harry potter though as I grew up with Emma Watson (she went to my rival school) so it was always weird to see the girl I played sport with on the telly.

@Neist I do think that not being straight out of college and having some life experience gives a different outlook to those who are younger. But 33 is an awesome time to be doing this journey :D

Happy Tuesday all!!!

I came to work early, then remembered I can't do anything cause I need to train the new student...but I think I've found a place! Cheap rent, nice complex, 15 mins to campus and my roommate seems really cool! I sent her an email about starting admin stuff for the apartment but she's yet to answer me back which is kinda expected cause holiday weekend and all but I'm antsy. If it doesn't work out, I'll have a back up at least...but no cat ;-;

Nah, at some point it's just because I'm lazy. I hate watching movies so I keep putting it off :P

@Pink Fuzzy Bunny OMG! Finally someone who doesn't watch movies! I told someone this before and you would have thought I said 'I throw puppies in the ocean for fun'.

I don't hate movies. I actually enjoy them when I see them. I just don't have a need to watch them or go out to the theaters.

Feel asleep on the first three Star Wars movies (friend forced me to watch them after work), only saw Chamber of Secrets (field trip) and Deathly Hallows Pt. II (friend really wanted to see it in theaters even though I told her I hadn't watched Part One), only saw the last two LotR (friends did a marathon w/o the first one) and one Hobbit movie (friend wanted to see it in theaters). I only watch movies when someone forces me to.

Now TV shows. That's my shit. Star Trek is my love.
