resDQ Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Which is worse: Acceptance troll or Rejection troll? Berkeley rejection post true?

Rejection Trolls get my hopes up because there is a chance of a waitlist! At least the latest troll used the official name "Leland Stanford Junior University" *edited to correct error. guest56436 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 ^ Not that I care about the results section at this point, but that's the official name of Stanford.

advark Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 does anyone know what's been going on for Berkeley (as in, had any communications with an official source)?
guest56436 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Berkeley is one of those programs that is pretty much clockwork every year they send out acceptances at the same time around the first week of February.
tkid86 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Got my first rejection of the cycle from GWU. Stings, but I'm not heartbroken. Checked on the website. Generic rejection template.
ngsam191 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Looks like Texas is sending out their acceptance emails.

The only thing keeping me from checking each application 5x a day is the thought that I would get an email saying something had changed. If that isn't the case...well, there goes my productivity and sanity for the next month

Notifications seemed to start coming out the Tuesday after MLK Day. krapp 1
krapp Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Thanks, I'll start keeping an eye on it. It looks like most programs I've applied to typically start around the beginning of February, I guess GWU just likes to be ahead of the curve.

RevTheory1126 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Or another Cornell? If it was someone, great, but leaving the statement "thought I was done for this cycle!" is really bizarre... resDQ and cellec 2

It takes less than a minute to post multiple results. Congrats to those who received good news if they are true, but until rejections are out or someone confirms here...
advark Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 UT Austin: did your app status change at all? Mine still says under review.

krapp Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Woke up to a GWU email, waitlisted. To temper my expectations I'm considering it as a rejection.
