SocialPubHealth Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Results so far, with most recent at top: Harvard: Social and Behavioral Sciences - rejected; this one hurt because I really matched research interests w the faculty University of Pittsburgh: Behavioral and Community Health Sciences - accepted and glad, but not thrilled NYU: Social and Behavioral Sciences - rejected; don't care because their program is brand new and has lots of hiccups according to my advisor Emory: Behavioral Sciences and Education - rejected; don't care because no faculty/research aligned anyways
marcphoenix Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Suddenly I can't log-in to my JHU status page. That's an interesting way to provide a decision on your application.

One university told me that the 20h packages are fairly uniform across universities. Is this true? Anyone have any friends currently doing PhDs? Edited February 27, 2017 by melvina
mtbe Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Has anyone heard back from the Epi program at UC Berkeley or has any idea when notifications might be sent out?
anthrostudentcyn Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 hey all. I was just wonder-what led you all to pursue a phd in public health? was it that you felt oppurtunities were limited with an MPH?

Have you been in touch with anyone before submitting your application? What are your research interests (just out of curiosity :))?

There's a really good fit with the department research interests, but not entirely fascinated with the structure of the program. Also got rejected from NYU social and behavioral sciences. Still waiting to hear from Sociomedical Sciences at Columbia.

I actually like Pitt's program but I'm not sure about the location. I would also need to confirm who my POI there is because if I don't get my first choice then it wouldn't be worth it to go there...
