Just out of curiosity, did you guys all get conditional acceptances? and what are you conditions? Just wondering if my conditions are like the norm or if they differ from person to person...

@frannyt The only condition on my letter was that I had to mail in an official transcript.

@Nick.lb Other than the letter I got a sheet with information on how to submit an official transcript and how to make the $500 deposit payment.

For those who applied for the January 31 deadline, have you heard anything about awards?

@frannyt It didn't mention much other than I had to mail it in by a certain date. I graduated 5 years ago anyways so the official transcript would be no different than the scanned copy I already submitted. I think it's just a formality to verify what I submitted online was accurate and unaltered.

@Nick.lb Lol I was starting to feel old myself thinking most of the other applicants are undergrads too, but you're not alone I've been out of school for a while now too.

My condition is to maintain mid-B grade (I think that's a 3.0?) when i graduate.

And I am going to the meet and greet!! I'll talk to you during the networking part;)) Do you know anyone else from McGill who's got accepted?

Does anyone know if people have started receiving rejection emails? There's only one person who posted that they got a rejection via mail... People are probably just not too motivated to post their rejections.

Also, does anyone know in what stage the admissions dept is, it seems like they stopped sending out acceptances - i'll probably email them and follow up.

If I had to guess (because realistically I dont actually know), I would say the department sent out a first batch of acceptances and are waiting to hear back from a certain percentage before sending out more acceptances. Not because they're full, but probably just to keep track of admission numbers and such. About rejections, not really sure how many people are going to post about that online... depending on level of comfort and reaction to a rejection. Doesn't hurt to follow up with them!

Dudes going for TALint,

I had an interview with them on March 2nd for one of the positions, went terribly but shit happens, also the department I was interviewed for said it was out of their hands by the end of that week so if you haven't been contacted from the initial batch you might want to throw your hat into the second.

EDIT:

Since I'm here, if you feel like some light reading check out the syllabi repository if you haven't already http://current.ischool.utoronto.ca/courses

Thanks for the update on TALint, I'll try for the second round.

That syllabi link is really useful! The course timetable for 2016 is also available there and I took a look to get an idea of what course offering might be like in the fall.

To all those who went to the meet and greet, just out of curiosity, how did it go? Were you able to meet with professors?

(Basically, what was on the agenda) Thanks!

@Nick.lb The meet and greet was great. There weren't many profs present so I didn't get to speak with any, but there were current students and alumni talking about the student experience and we had the chance to speak with them and ask questions. That was the focus of the event.

@Legacy23 I have a nice apartment about 25 mins away from campus, in the Eaton centre area. When are you looking to move to Toronto? If you're planning to move late summer it may be premature to look now.
