I included a quote but just to explain a fact of why something is important to address in my proposed project. Maybe you could say "the work and theoretical frameworks of Dr. ___ have influenced me... etc"
I'm assuming it depends on the relationship or maybe if the professor has something else to offer like fellowships and such. It seems like the standard is email.
The arch program is separate, right? Because I haven't heard anything back from UCLA, and I was kinda hopeful since I met a my POIs at the AAA's, and they were really interested in my project and said I'd be a great fit. I hope I'm not getting my hopes up based on that.
I want to know NOW, but maybe! I checked the results for my school's, and they usually send out decisions late February/early March, so I'm not hopeful about finding out soon.
Yeah xstopfloating, I'm in the same situation as you are... no money to visit but perfect fit.
I just checked their calendar, and classes started on Monday?! Wow. Anyway, I did expect CUNY to take longer since the professors work at other colleges as well...
No, I don't think we were. All I know is that the graduate center says decisions are made 4-8 weeks after the deadline, but it's been like 8 weeks already.
And yes, hang in there Duke folks!
If you haven't figured this out, you could have someone at work who speaks Spanish write a LOR talking about your language abilities and so on.
My second language is English, and I don't have an instructor to confirm I'm fluent in Spanish (my first language), so I was told to just mention that in my FLAS statement of purpose.
I'm so nervous! For some reason I'm feeling really pesimistic even though I know I shouldn't. I worry about my GRE scores even though everything else in my application was really solid. I still hope for the best though!
Yeah, I'll be there, too! Luckily for me, there is a good amount of linguistic anthropology, latin american anthropology, and indigenous anthropology. I'm so excited!
