This is the third dream this week about grad admissions that had me waking up with a start. This time, I was told by a very well-known cosplayer to check my email. BOY was she wrong.

I should have clarified, but I applied to the Master's. I finished my application a couple days before Jan 5, so perhaps I'll hear back later. :T

Has anyone else who submitted an application to the SNRE not heard back? I called admissions and they were unable to help me. I also haven't had any updates on my wolverineaccess.

Hasn't happened to me personally, but I've heard stories where PIs steal their student's research and publish it under their name. It's rare, but it happens.

I'm in the same boat as you in terms of not having full control of my life. I live with my parents, don't have a job, and am applying for another few years of school. I don't pay my own bills, and I feel guilty, because I feel I should be at a point in my life where I should be living on my own and doing these things. I am far from being grown up (I'm younger than you btw), so all I can do is work towards reaching that point of maturity. I'm applying to jobs, trying to help out with bills and learn about doing taxes, and taking steps to becoming more independent (and, hopefully, mature). It's normal that everyone around you will be different, in age and in maturity. I would just accept it and know that I'm not them. I have my own path and my own pace at which I will become a mature adult.

According to others on the forums, the acceptances typically go out in waves. If you were clearly not meant for their program, they'd have rejected you already. You probably aren't the top choice, so they're evaluating other applications etc. Based on this, you shouldn't count yourself out yet. BUTTT, it's hard not to feel that way. I'm feeling it too. I've seen so many acceptances go out already, and haven't heard a peep about my application. I guess we just have to hang in there and just work on plan B, just in case.

HOLY ---- I just realized that there's only one more week left before I should be getting results from both grad schools. They've been silent! What does this mean!?!?

I haven't heard back from any schools yet, but I have a uGPA of 2.7 and average (70th percentile) GRE scores with some research experience. Currently praying like crazy that I get accepted to the two master's programs I applied to. I've had some research experience (2 research courses with unpublished papers) and already have spoken to potential PI's about what research I wanted to do with each of them. I'm hoping that and my passion are enough to get me accepted. However, all I've gotten back is silence. PLEASE ACCEPT ME. (Dreams do come true right?) Much worry.
