Little bit out of topic, but we are both interested in the SAME research topics! I checked your profile hehe -
I just received my first acceptance. I was emailing the POI of another school when I saw the email "Admissions decision notification." Feels good

The movie you are talking is Called Admission... Bad movie in my opinion. Enough to make you upset about adcoms too...

Hi guys, have you read this article about the admissions process at Stanford? It was very interesting to read in detail from someone who actually participated in the process. Very glad that I found this article: http://nlp.stanford.edu/~rkarthik/DAGAP.pdf

I was wondering if are there any Tau Beta Pi members applying for the Fall 2014. Did you guys apply to the TBP national fellowship?

I believe you are referring to USC, right? I had some hard time understanding their TOEFL requirement back in October. I called them and was told that since I am getting my degree in the US, the TOEFL requirement would be waved. Later on I discovered that I would have to take the exam because I haven't been enrolled in a school in the US for 4+ years... Quite confusing, but the school is awesome! Good luck with your apps, you are applying to a couple programs I have also applied to

I received a text message from my POI too hehe. It was quite surprising. It also had a smiley face... I swear!

What are you trying to learn in the Computer Engineering program? Do you already know how to code? I wouldn't do both at the same time. And once you have a PhD you can reach the line of "over qualified for this position" Depending on what you want to learn from Comp Eng, I would consider learning on my own/joining free online classes to warm up. Both at the same time sounds like a lot, but if you think you can do it... Do it :-) -

My dream decision got back to me!! but...

They are offering switching my application to M.Eng. But I am not quite sure about how competitive it is... -
According to US News, for Stanford, these are the stats: 159 Verbal, 165 Quant, 4.24 AW

I applied for Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering program at a top tier school. This dream school sent me an email today saying that my application is strong, but I would be a better fit for the Masters of Engineering program. So they offered me to change from M.S. to M.Eng. and I won't have to pay anything extra... The thing is that I do plan on getting a PhD in the future, but at the same time I would love to get into this school. So I am considering switching to the M.Eng. program, which is a terminal program and wouldn't lead to a PhD track naturally. What do you guys think? What would you do? Thank you!

good for you
