So I found out that my POI forgot to email the department saying to admit me. The bummer though is that they didn't give me a TA position and I don't believe my advisor has funding unless he found some within the last three weeks somehow. I'm going to have to talk to him about options now. They stated though that it is possible for me to get a TA position if someone else doesn't accept one

Also the only thing I'm concerned about at this point is the big f word because the email i received, which was from the department, did not mention anything regarding it. I'm just going to wait until I hear back from my advisor or the department about it

No just one department I'm going to wait and see what my advisor says. It is very possible that this was just a mistake and the department did in fact recommend me either that or my advisor said something. In any case I'm just happy that things worked out

Just got an email from the graduate school saying that the department at Nebraska recommended me and they said congrats !!!!!

I don't think he's that sensitive really. Not saying that you're wrong who knows. Plus anyway I didn't cc the chair the department did. Also person who got rejected from UT was that UT Austin ?

I know I was rejected from Wiscousin because of my GRE this was after I emailed my POI after reciving the rejection.

Out of curiosity did any of you who were rejected find out it was because of your GRE scores ? A lot of schools don't post minimum scores or even averages on their websites so it becomes tricky to know if your application will get thrown out just because of a GRE.

Why us !!! I still think he said I'll get admitted without funding. He even had a student who was accepted without funding for the first semester but later got funding. If accepted without funding, I was going to either defer my acceptance until funding was available or attend if they could refund me. Dark days these are dark days

His exact words, you'll be accepted I just got to figure out funding, you have a place here.

She told me to email her and she sent me a rejection from the committee chair person

It doesn't show up on there you have to email Janelle

The email was from the department so I'm guessing it was the departments committee

I just emailed the two people involved stating that I was by ..... That I would be admitted with or without funding may you look into this ? I know what my advisor said so I don't know what happened at all. As for working, my thesis advisor contacted people in environmental consulting which is unrelated to what I want to do. I guess I should grab whatever I can get though

Thanks I hope so too. If this happened at Nebraska then most likely it will happen at UT and Rice. Person who got into Nebraska, were you admitted with an RA or TA position ?

Minimum GPA is a 3.0 there is no minimum GRE listed. I don't understand this, he said that I was admitted. I'm just hoping that this is a mistake

Well, I got a rejection today from Nebraska. I called the department up and they told me to email my POI and the committee chairman. I don't believe I misinterpreted him. He said that I would have a place regardless of funding at Nebraska. He said that I would be able to work for him so this is my situation now after I told my family that I was admitted. This is a nightmare it really is

Is it common for a POI to say you're admitted but then the school rejects you ?

So a POI can secure a TA position ? Also I thought I would hear about a TA position from UT this well :/

Hopefully he does I thought POI recommend almost anyone ? Unless they have multiple people who want to work for them
